True! Bathing too frequently can remove the natural oils that help protect your pet's skin and coat, leading to dryness and irritation.

How often your pet should be bathed depends on their breed, coat type, lifestyle, and any underlying skin conditions.

Not sure what's best for your pet? We'd be happy to help. Call (256) 586-2561.

Most healthy cats don't need routine ear cleaning. In fact, cleaning your cat's ears too often can cause irritation. Instead, check them periodically for redness, swelling, a bad odor, excessive wax, or discharge.

If you notice any of these signs or your cat is scratching at their ears or shaking their head frequently, it's time for a veterinary visit.

Have questions about your cat's ear health? Call (256) 586-2561.

It's true! A healthy adult cat's heart typically beats between 140 and 220 times per minute, compared to about 60–100 beats per minute in most adults.

Kittens often have even faster heart rates because they're growing so quickly.

Cats may be small, but their hearts work incredibly hard every day!

True! Plain, cooked pumpkin is a healthy treat for many dogs when offered in moderation. It's a good source of fiber and nutrients and may even help support healthy digestion.

Just be sure to avoid pumpkin pie filling, which often contains added sugar and spices that aren't safe for pets. Does your dog enjoy pumpkin? Let us know!

Pumpkin-flavored treats are everywhere this time of year, but some seasonal ingredients aren't safe for pets.

Nutmeg contains myristicin, which can be toxic when ingested in larger amounts and may cause disorientation, increased heart rate, tremors, or even seizures.

If you think your pet has eaten a large amount of nutmeg or another potentially toxic ingredient, contact us immediately at (256) 586-2561.

Kindness is often shown in the little things. Taking time for a walk, offering a gentle scratch behind the ears, or simply making sure a pet feels safe and loved can speak volumes.

Many everyday household items that seem harmless can be dangerous for cats. Certain plants, medications, essential oils, cleaning products, and even some foods can cause serious illness if ingested or absorbed through grooming.

Before bringing a new plant, product, or medication into your home, take a moment to make sure it's safe for your feline family member.

There's a reason dogs have such an incredible sense of smell and your lunch is usually at the top of their priority list!

While it's funny when they give you those irresistible puppy eyes, remember that many common sandwich ingredients, including onions, garlic, grapes, and xylitol-containing products, can be dangerous for dogs.
