We’re going to do what we can for the ones that we can, to save lives and give second chances to horses who have worked their whole lives for humans. Their retirement shouldn’t be made up of day long trailer rides to places who care nothing about them other than their weight. Please consider donating and contributing, no amount is too small when it comes to saving lives together in this equine- loving community.

Our goal of $5000 needed to raise for each draft pales in comparison to the actual cost it takes to help each horse in the first couple of months with us. We raise funds for bail (purchase price), transport to and from quarantine, quarantine fees, feed, supplements, initial vet care, and initial farrier work. And usually this covers a good portion of these things.

For those who don’t yet know, we are Triple J Horse Haven, founded and operating in Apple Valley, CA. We are in Southern California, in what is locally called the high desert. We have a dry heat that the horses seem to enjoy and thrive in and we are only “hot” a couple months of the year, the rest being pretty mild. We always have a breeze and often we have wind.

That being said, there are not a lot of trees that just GROW where we are. It takes a ton of water and a ton of time to get a tree tall enough to provide any sort of shade. So, we provide artificial shade to the equines in the form of shelters, shade covers, and structures. Our new ranch is not yet finished, we are installing many more structures. Please keep in mind the horses have Joshua trees, and are very comfortable as they are, with their artificial shelter. I wish we could all live in an enchanting forest, but this is where our roots are so we are growing where we are planted. And the horses love us for it. And they are alive because of it.

‘Rip’ saved from shipping to Mexico in October 2024 is in this beautiful countryside in the high desert because of all of us working together to save horses and give them an amazing life. Some people see this view and just think it’s hot, but it has its own beauty to it. Maybe one day we will move up north and have thousands of acres with tons of trees, but for now, this is just as magical.

Yes… Another of the horses from the June auction made it to the ship list. Instead of being shipped right away, she was put online to see if anyone would take her home after she didn’t fit on the truck to slaughter.

she caught my eye during the auction and I was just astounded when I saw her online. And I almost grabbed her right then in there, but I waited and waited and I waited. I’m still no one took her home. and then she was added to the ship list again. And now we need your help to keep her from ever reaching Mexico.

As always, please never feel obligated. However, donating to our 501c3 Nonprofit rescue is a great way to get a tax deduction as well as save a life.

we are raising bail and transport to California as well as a few extra dollars for veterinary costs if they come up our total goal for saving ‘Strawberry’ is $2000. This will cover most of that let’s get her out to California ASAP and begin her new life and safety giving her a second chance.
