There’s a great course at NCSU in December for goat and sheep owners or prospective owners! They’ll cover basic husbandry and the important issues involved in goat/sheep rearing.

It’s hot out here! So, Hoof and Horn is offering an indoor pig care promotion for August and September! If we can examine your pig in the AC, we’ll give you a 10% discount on services that day! So it’s a good time to schedule vaccinations, hoof trims, tusk trims, or physical exams of your pet indoor/outdoor pigs. Give us a call or text at 919-999-6611. We are now traveling an hour away from our home base, and can hopefully come out to you.

This is a c-section we did on a goat this month. The doe was bred by a large buck by accident, and since she was unlikely to have the kids on her own, we did surgery to get them out. The doe did not fair too well this time, but the kids are doing great.

As of Monday March 30, 2020, we will be temporarily seeing only emergency/urgent calls in order to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Rest assured, we will attend to any medical issue needed to keep your animals healthy. We will also take care of time sensitive issues such as disbudding and first vaccines for the babies at the appropriate times. We will also be available by text, phone, and email as usual. We anticipate seeing routine calls again in about a month, but that will depend on the situation in our community. Thank you so much for your business and understanding!
