I’m going through things as we start to clean out and pack up the farm and I found Vic’s papers ( his registered name was Vimars Rendezvous/ his parents were Viral and Kalimara and he was bred at Rendezvous farm), bill of sale, old Coggins and his pre purchase exam😢apparently in 1997 pre purchase exams only cost $75!!! Although we definitely didn’t do X-rays or anything extra and I’d known him his whole life so no surprises really. How times have changed lol. I loved this horse much.

So thankful to the Carolina Horse Park and all the volunteers who make War Horse possible. It’s always a blast, so well run, and a great way to get eventing experience in a low stress environment. So proud of Mikala and Grace for some fabulous rides and great attitudes even in the heat! Thanks to Ash for capturing our schooling day:) Pierre is always a xc beast and Max is living his best life thinking he’s on the Olympic short list:) love these bay boys and their excitement!!

Couple of fur baby udates since it’s been a while!
Vic continues to do great with just 1 eye:) I’m so happy and he seems to also be very happy.
Keeper at 34 still greets me everyday with excitement for his alfalfa lunch and even though he’s looking more like an old man, he seems to be feeling great and putting on some weight as we head into winter.
Our ā€œbarn catā€, Charlie, is ever so slowly getting brave enough to leave the house and front porch so maybe 2025 he will actually make his way to the barn lol.
And Posie is as happy and kind as ever and loves greeting everyone who comes to the farm!

It’s been a rough month for Vic, he had cellulitis that finally cleared up, had his fall dentist appointment where he had a tooth pulled, and now has injured his eye so had an ulcer that is luckily healing but has also turned into uveitis. Poor buddy is still feeling sassy and is on the mend but big thanks to Courtney at 3H for all her care and support!
And while horses are the worst and constantly injuring themselves, mornings on the farm are still the best way to start the day. Love these reckless and irresponsible giants that cause so much stress:)

I can’t really express how proud of I am these 2 ladies and their fabulous bay boys. Huge congrats to Grace Getty on the purchase of Maxwell Smart/ a truly fabulous and kind Canadian Warmblood. And holy cow, don’t call it a comeback, Mikala Huemmer and Pierre aka Smart Bomb blowing up cross country schooling today. We love the horse park and are so lucky to be able to enjoy their War Horse series:)
