Happy almost Summer!! It's great to be home but got some good R & R the last couple weeks which was much needed!. Anyways on to June - Our Basic Obedience/STAR puppy class will be starting on Friday June 27th at 6:30 and our Rally Obedience will be starting that same day at 7:30PM. What better time to start doing some training for the summer! Our Canine Fit Class Levels 1,2 and 3 will be starting In July on the Sunday the 13th at 11AM. If you've already completed a FIT class then our Foundation Agility class is also starting on July 13 at 10AM. This one is offset a bit because of trial weekends and holidays. Join me in congratulating two of our folks on their May 2025 accomplishments. Mary Ann and Stoli earned their CGC on May 19th and Lori and Henry earned their Versatility NATCH this past weekend at ITZ in Mechanicsburg.! Well done!!

For the first time in along time I FORGOT to make an Event page for our Spring NADAC dog agility trial this coming weekend,( and no it is not age related, lol.) Anyways, if you're in the area or out for a stroll on this beautiful weekend, stop by, say Hi, hang out for a while and watch the Fun Dogs Run!! We're at 836 Anita Ave, Antioch. You can't miss us!!!! Hi Folks, Happy Spring(kind of)? Wanted to give an update on happenings coming up. Our Basic Obedience/STAR Puppy and our Rally classes will be starting Friday May 2nd. Our Canine Fit 1,2,&3 will be starting on Sunday May 4th at 11AM.
May 10/11 is our Spring NADAC trial. Entries are open for that now- it will be nice to get back outside again!! All fenced. Our judge is Karl Schulski from Thunder Bay, it will be his first time here and we are looking forward to him coming to play with us! Hope to see everyone again! Our first sessions of 2025 had some incredible dogs and pups! Congratulations to all these wonderful teams: Noelle and Kameron CGC, Reese and Tilly, Novice Trick, Tessa and Piper, CGC and Novice Trick, Tilly(Reese) Intermediate Trick , Al and Sully, CGC and Novice Trick, JoEmily, James and Aahana, CCG, Novice Trick, Mary Lou and Freya, CGC, Our FIT Graduates, Piper(level 3), Tilly, Aahana and Rosemary Level 1 (K,I,T,'s on the end just to even out the picture, lol) , Nasa, Level 3(not pictured) And our Basic Obedience Graduates, Noelle and Kameron, Al and Sully. And the one picture I missed taking was our Agility Foundation Graduates, Jennie and Aife, Turney and Coby, Madeline and Sky, Tessa and Asher. Congratulations to all of you! I had a blast working with each and every one of you and am looking forward to the next 8 weeks!!! You are all amazing!!!

Hi Folks, Hope you're enjoying the non-winter weather. For me, I want snow!!!! I was thinking about going up north to see the dog sled races but that's coming up here way too soon and I didn't plan very well. I'm going to try and get up there sometime before the snow melts and take a few "roads", I shouldn't, lol. (Some habits are hard to break........)
Anyways, just a heads up on some good stuff coming up here at Candy's. The next sessions start the week of March 2nd. New Canine Fit session starts that day at 11AM. New Basic/Puppy Obedience will be starting March 7th at 6:30PM. And....the really cool thing is that we are bringing back Rally classes on March 7th at 7:30PM following the Basic/Puppy class! We are really looking forward to it, it's been a long time since we offered Rally and I remembered how much fun it was!
Trial wise the May 10/11 NADAC Trial premium should be out this month, we'll let you know when it's available or you can just check our website www.candyscanines.com and the NADAC website.
So there you go, I knew 2025 was going to be a busy fun year!

Hi Folks, Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We are definitely looking forward to the new year.
Thank you to all our folks for love and support you've shown us in 2024. It definitely is going to be a year to remember! The list of dreams, goals and accomplishment that were attained is truly wonderful. I am thankful for each and every one of you. It is because of you that I love this journey!
Some of the things we have planned for 2025 are:
Orientation/Open House on Friday January 3rd from 6:30 to about 8:30 ish. For new folks joining our classes and for those that just may want to check us out to see what we have to offer through our classes. All are welcome!

October 11/12 - Bernie Doyle judging

Candy's Christmas 2024 was lots and lots of fun, wonderful folks, wonderful food(almost nothing was left over, that's how good it was!) Seeing so many people that are near and dear to me all in one place always amazes me. A huge thank you to Mary Ann, Crystal, Jooly, John, John, and Amy Jo for helping putting it all together and setting up and decorating to transform our little school into a beautiful dining hall. Lots of smiles, hugs, laughs and of edibles were had! Of course we had the grand daughters starting the annual Candy's snowball fight( being their happy elvish selves.) Ellen was there again with her angel, Sharon and Sharon's brother. Ellen hasn't missed a Christmas Party in 25 years!! She still never ceases to amaze us all. I also had the most wonderful visitors, people I have been hoping to meet to complete my story.To add to my 2010 newfound family, my new found sister(since just before Thanksgiving) Laura, husband Greg and son Liam came all the way up so we could meet for the very first time!!!! It's so nice to feel complete. I am looking forward to 2025 being a wonderful year!!
Thanks to each and every one of you that made 2024 unforgettable!

Our 25th Annual Candy's Christmas is in the books(details to come later) First I want to congratulate a number of our folks on geting some special Candy's/Fundog -made awards for 2024. It's been a memorable year to say the least, and these great folks have done some pretty amazing things!!
First up Dan & Lola, Bruce and Abby and Lori and Henry earned their NADAC Natch's this year, with Dan getting his 2nd one at Champs in Wyoming, in September!
Next up we gave out a first time award because I saw it fitting to recognize these Incredible Dogs this year, they have done things that they never thought they could and I am so proud of them. We have Nasa (the amazing Mastiff) and Crystal, Spooky Moss and her owner Kara, and Danny and his owner Jean. I think they will agree with me that it's been one hell of a fun and amazing ride!
And finally to conclude the presentation of awards, we were proud to give the Student of the Year Award to Bob Beller(pictured with
the other amazing Mastiff, Odin) Bob has really picked up the slack on Sundays for me when I decided to go on various adventures not to mention he has also taken over our website(if I had to do it my head would explode and possibly a computer being thrown out my window as I do not do technology well) AND is always there to come to the aide of those who get themselves in a bit of a jam, lol
(no names will be mentioned but we know who we are, lol). So join me in Congratulating these fine folks, it's going to be a tough act to follow in 2025!! Love you guys!
