A few people have asked why we waited a year to do our grand opening. When we first bought the inventory from Best Pets the store didn't feel like ours. It felt like we were running someone else's store. There were so many changes we wanted to do and over the year we have finally accomplished some! We are finally in a place where the store feels like ours, it feels like Thrive Pet Supply. We are so grateful for our customers and for being being part of this amazing community! Pet nutrition is something we are truly passionate about and we are so glad to share it with all of you!

There is still so much we want to do with the store but being a small buisness and having to do our day to day work like orders, doesn't give us much time to do our side projects. But we are getting there, slowly but surely.

Thank you to everyone who came to our grand opening and ribbon cutting! We had so much fun and hope to do more events with Hometown Events & Pop-Ups in the future!

Congratulations to Thrive Pet Supply on celebrating their first anniversary under their new ownership! The Antioch Chamber was pleased to mark this milestone with a ribbon cutting and to recognize a successful first year for this downtown business located at 939 Main Street in Antioch.

Many customers will recognize a familiar face behind the counter. Before purchasing the business a year ago, Lacy spent seven years helping pet owners at Best Pets, building relationships with customers and their furry family members along the way. Today, she continues that tradition as owner of Thrive Pet Supply, providing quality products, knowledgeable service, and a welcoming experience for pet lovers throughout the community.

We congratulate Lacy, Brandon and the Thrive Pet Supply team on a wonderful first year and wish them continued success for many years to come!

6/1/26 they are free!

As most of you know we are no longer selling live feeder rats and mice, we are only selling frozen now. We are selling the tanks they were kept in. They were originally made for holding reptiles but were used for rats and mice. Some of them you can put bulbs in and others you can't. They are FREE

We really want to get rid of them soon. If no one wants them we will call a junk removal service.

Most pet parents focus on what’s in their pet’s bowl🥣, but this conversation shows that what the food is stored in matters just as much!

Materials like glass, food grade ceramic, and stainless steel sit at the top because they’re inert and don’t interact with food, while plastics fall into a spectrum depending on their type, quality, and condition. More stable plastics like #2, #4, and #5 can be reasonable options, but they’re still not completely inert, especially over time with exposure to fats, heat, and wear. Lower-quality or unknown plastics ( #3, #6, 7) raise more concern due to additives and higher potential for chemical migration, particularly when containers become scratched, cloudy, or degraded. Silicone is stable for short term use, but capable of absorbing oils and odours with long-term use.

One of the most practical takeaways is that storage habits matter: keeping kibble in its original bag and placing the whole bag inside a container helps reduce direct contact and preserves freshness. It’s nearly impossible to eliminate plastic entirely, but reducing long-term exposure from everyday storage is possible.

We will be closed on Memorial Day. We hope everyone has a great holiday.
