When Willow comes for Play Dates she likes to test out many of the toys here - she takes her job seriously as a “toy tester”! Last week was full of smiles and tail wags! I always love spending time with my furry friends, but it was extra special getting to see my sweet friend Bella again. It had been awhile, and I was so happy she remembered me.

Weekends have been booking up quickly, and I’m so grateful to my wonderful clients — thank you for trusting me with your pups! Labor Day weekend is now fully booked. Looking ahead, I’ll be taking limited bookings for Thanksgiving and Christmas with some time off in between, so now’s the perfect time to start planning for the holidays.

Once again, I received the sad news that my little friend Axl crossed the 🌈 Bridge. He was 15 ½ years old, but you’d never know it. He was so spunky. I began caring for him 6 years ago with his brother Beadle. When Beadle passed, Axl still came to stay with us, and every visit was a gift.

These photos are from his last stay with us in March. We were so looking forward to seeing him again in October. Thank you to his loving parents for trusting us to care for and love him all these years. My heart goes out to them as they grieve.

It’s been a while since I introduced myself. I’m Vicki and I’m the owner of Wag This Way Small Dog Boarding and Daycare in Anthem, Arizona.

I’m a certified professional pet sitter (CPPS) CPR/First Aid certified for pets, and a dog mom to four rescued small pups. I started Wag This Way Small Dog Boarding & Daycare because little dogs deserve a safe, calm, and loving place to stay.

We recently met new friends and welcomed them to the Wag This Way family!

The first step in booking our services is scheduling a meet and greet. This is a relaxed visit where you and your pup come by to meet us, see our home, and make sure it feels like the right fit. During this time, we’ll:

✔️ get to know your pup’s personality, routine, and special needs

✔️ introduce them to our own dogs and check for a good match

✔️ answer your questions and explain how everything works

✔️ go over feeding, medications, and comfort routines

Why do we do this? Because every dog deserves to feel safe, loved, and comfortable when they’re here - and every pet parent deserves peace of mind knowing their pup is in good hands.

Think of it as the first playdate before the real fun begins!

Ice on a hot day? Your pup might think it’s the best treat ever! But here’s what you need to know first:

While ice can be a fun way to cool down, it’s not without risks. Large chunks can chip teeth , especially for puppies and seniors, and they can also be a choking hazard for tiny pups or speedy eaters.

💡 Safer tip: Offer crushed or small pieces of ice, and always keep an eye on your dog while they enjoy it.

🚨 Important: If your dog is experiencing heat stroke, do not give ice or ice water! It can shock their system and delay cooling. Instead, move them to a cool, shaded spot, wet them with cool (not cold) water, and get to a vet immediately.

Cool treats are great… as long as they’re safe ones!
