Wendy and Casper are officially posted for adoption!

Wendy is still working on healing and trusting, but she is so sweet and has already made so much progress. She loves playing with toys and Casper and getting pets! Casper is a BIG personality who brings a lot of excitement into the home with his loud voice and goofy hops and zoomies. These two love each other and are looking forward to spending their whole lives together!

They are such a special pair with a special story, and deserve a forever home who will love them and their story! We are looking for a home with no other pets and no young children (ages 10+ preferred), and a forever family who is willing to be patient and love these two for all that they are.

I spy two freshly bathed kittens! Do you?? (Hint: it’s not the white ones!)

Maintaining body temperature is super important for kittens, so after baths Bonnie and Clyde like to burrow under a blanket with a warming disk until they are dry and warm! Let’s cross our fingers that this is our last flea bath🤞🏼Bonnie and Clyde finally big enough for flea medication, so goodbye pesky fleas!

Learning to eat is MESSY!

Bonnie and Clyde are going through the weaning process, which has been quite the ordeal. Bonnie is doing well and seems to be right on track! Clyde on the other hand has decided that he is NOT going to make it easy on me. Is he on a hunger strike? I’m starting to think so! Thankful for the Pet Haven vet team for staying in close contact with me and ensuring Clyde is healthy and getting what he needs!

Casper is also weaning, but is having a MUCH easier time since he’s gotten to grow up watching his mama eat food. He’s a champ when it comes to meal time!

- Not pictured: kittens covered head to toe in canned food and formula
- No, they didn’t spill all the food - they just aren’t interested in it until I sprinkle it all over the floor
- Yes, they do insist on fighting over the kibble on the floor as if there’s none available elsewhere

We have new friends! Meet Bonnie (black) and Clyde (tabby). These two orphans were found in a trailer park with no mom taking care of them. They’re about five weeks old, but are very small for their age.

They’ll be staying with me at least until they’re old enough to consistently eat on their own. After that, we’ll see how things are going with Wendy. She’s not quite a fan of them yet. But Casper on the other hand, well his dream of having friends to play with has come true ❤️

Wendy and Casper had a visitor this weekend! As you can see, Casper had no issues making a new friend 😊 But for Wendy, it’s been a slow process of trusting me, so I wasn’t sure how she’d respond to someone new. She did great! Rightfully so, she was a bit nervous at first, but after spending some time together she let my sister () be next to her and even accepted pets!

Casper is ready to take on the world! Well, not really, but at three weeks old (today!) he’s doing his best to convince his mom, Wendy, and I that it’s time to let him out to explore.

This little guy is so active! He wakes up when I come in the room, talks to me, walks/crawls around, and is even starting to interact with toys! He’s safest in his big bed with mom for now, but it won’t be long before we need to expand his space!

They may not have names yet, but they are safe and mama can finally start to relax 🤍

Her story:
- a hoarding house
- a small kennel in a loud, overcrowded animal control for over a month
- losing one of her kittens after birth

She was frozen with fear when she came to me, but is learning one day at a time that I will not hurt her and she can start to decompress.

Nugget needed a friend, so this weekend Hermey joined our household! Hermey comes to us from a shelter up north where he was brought after being found as a stray.

As a lot of shelter cats do, Hermey came to us with a kitty cold and parasites. Unfortunately this means we’ve got to get through some medications and a week of quarantine before these two can be together freely. We all can’t wait for the quarantine to be over!

We’ve got a new foster friend! Please say hello to Nugget, an oh-so-sweet teenage kitten who has been a solo kitten since he was 8 weeks old.

Why is it worth mentioning that he was a solo kitten? Well, he displays the typical signs of single kitten syndrome - biting during play and pets, general lack of confidence, and lots of energy that he doesn’t know how to get out. My plan is to introduce him to another foster (coming soon!) in the near future to help him resolve these “issues” and have a new best friend!

He has settled in SO well, being extremely affectionate and sweet while gaining confidence in the new space day by day.
