A big thanks to all my clients. Merry Christmas
Seeing a lot of dry feet. Good time to apply a hoof dressing, one is as good as the other. Don't overdo it once a week is good. Apply until nature provides the natural stuff again.
So proud of Mike Amico, recent graduate of Heartland Horseshoeing School! Glad to have him helping me. Looking to getting his own practice going in the future.
My certification buckle from AAPF
Doing a presentation at a 4-h club meeting.
First pads my new helper got ready. Nice job.
Meet Indy. His owner Emily, bought him from someone in New Jersey and we found out that his major "hole" was getting him shod. Never malicious, but extremely nervous and reactive and consequently dangerous.
Emily did an investigative research into his history and found that he was either "manhandled" or sedated to be shod.
Emily had a financial commitment and especially an emotional commitment to Indy and was willing to do what was required to "fix the issue".
So on a verrrry cold evening we began with some basic groundwork exercises. I could only meet with Emily and Indy one time, but she has a tremendous " team" who also helped. That team included the barn owner the trainer and eventually an equine chiropractor.
The picture you see is from yesterday. Indy was a perfect gentleman, even when a cat charged by on a beam overhead.
Several points to my segment of the industry is if you don't know how to "read" a horse, learn and you cannot "make" a horse like this submit. If you don't know what I'm talking about, quit!
My biggest accolades go to Emily. I knew when she told me she would work with him that she meant it. The owner is always the keystone to success.
Way to go Emily !
After 2 full shoes at Nobodaddy farm only one trim so bill does the honors while I (kyle) relax and watch
Another international hoof care summit is almost over. I was again stimulated and energized by the speakers and the roundtable discussions. There is always much to learn and many challenges ahead.
Every farrier owes it to his clients to be at IHCS.
Largest crowd ever. I was encouraged by the young men and women who attended.
On our way to the international hoof care summit in Cincinnati Ohio. Looking forward to quality continuing education opportunities. Get to rub elbows with farriers and veterinarians from all over the globe.
We're available to speak at your club meetings. Give us a call.
First week of February I will be at the international hoof care summit in Cincinnati Ohio. Great opportunity to learn and share with many of the best farriers and veterinarians in the world. I can still be reached by phone and my associate will be available.
Spent morning at Stonewell Bodies having my new trailer door installed and then on to Cindy and Tom Nolls place. Did five horses and then into Guses Steak House in Norwich NY, great meal. Spent the night at Tom and Cindys. So good to see them again. After a super breakfast traveled to Maine NY for a laminitis clinic. As always Esco Buff did a super job instructing.
I'll be heading to New York this weekend. Going to Stonewell Bodies to have a new rear door installed on my shoeing trailer (thanks to the woman who ran into the back of my trailer). Be good to see the Stonewell crew again. Then hope to stop by with Cindy and Tom Noll Friday afternoon. Saturday I'll be at a laminitis clinic taught by Esco Buff.
Another good Monday at Nobodaddy Farm.
Monday morning coffee out of the new trailer
Working on it. Hooray for Stonewell Bodies.
