-📢First thing's first: Unless your double coated dog is severely matted, I DO NOT SHAVE DOUBLE COATED DOGS. Humanity over vanity. If your dog's coat is heavily impacted, however, I can save the coat!-📢

-💪😎Automatic 10% discount for current and retired military veterans and his/her spouse! Just present your valid military ID, and thank you for your service!😎💪

-Please have your pup on flea & tick prevention to avoid the flea & tick treatment fee ($25).

-All pups must be up to date on the following vaccines: rabies, bordetella (kennel cough) and distemper/parvo.

-----🚩Late Fees, No-Show and Last-Minute Cancellation Policy🚩-----

-Please do not be late to your scheduled appointment. A $5 late fee will be imposed after a late arrival time of seven minutes or greater and may increase by $5 for every additional five minutes. Inclement weather may be an exception.

-Multiple late occurrences may result in termination of services.

-Please do not arrive early by more than five minutes. I may still be sanitizing equipment getting prepped for your pup.

-Failure to arrive by 25 mins after the scheduled appointment time will be considered a no-show and your appointment will need to be rescheduled, with a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total groom. This deposit must be paid prior to rescheduling your appointment.

-A second no-show on your record will result in termination of services.

-Last-minute or same-day cancellations! Sometimes life throws us an unexpected curveball and I completely understand emergencies happen! Please notify me at least 24 hours before your appointment or I may have to incur a $5 cancellation fee.

-I will send out a notification the day before your appointment for confirmation!

*Please keep in mind all package prices are subject to change and not definite upon arrival. For example, if your dog is extra dirty and requires more shampoo than normal, an additional fee of $10 will be utilized for each additional bottle used. Best case scenario, usually one or two extra bottles will work its magic, depending on coat thickness. Prices are non-negotiable.*

This evening I took care of a sweet pittie mix named Stormy...and I am so angry and upset with myself.

Her deshedding treatment went well until I forgot to hold on to her and brace for her jumping out of the tub, resulting in hurting her right leg and crying in pain and her limp worse.

This was not supposed to happen and I failed to keep her comfortable. I failed the client. I failed her.

I didn't charge a dime to the client. If a vet visit is warranted, he'll be fully reimbursed. I have business insurance for reasons like this, but I cannot and will not ever put a price on safety. This is my pledge to make things right. I just want to make sure Stormy is healthy and happy.

To the owner, I cannot apologize enough for what happened. Your pup deserves the best care and I was not up to par with your expectations. I'm not asking for pity nor forgiveness, but to make things right by you.

I hope I get to see you again, Stormy. I am so sorry for the pain I caused.

Stop what you're doing and take a gander at the most gorgeous standard poodle I have ever met. 😍😍😍

🐾---Grooming School Pup No.6!---🐾

This is Elle, the stylish, the bold, the beautiful, delightful and elegant standard poodle. ❤️

Elle is one of my instructor's puppies and I had the pleasure of taking care of her three times throughout school!

For the first groom I was still in the beginning phase, so Elle received a nail trim, a bath and poodle brushout.

This is when I started to learn how to prep a poodle for afro trims and shape the pom poms on her legs. Her owner personally prefers the afro and ears to stay fluffy and vibrant, so no facial trim this go-around.

This was when the difficulty level started to increase, but that's what made it more fun. Elle is such a wholesome sweetheart when she gets pampered and her calmness gave me the confidence and encouragement to keep pushing forward. ❤️

I fell in love with this dog and I was really sad when I had to say my final goodbye to her, but in the grand scheme of it all, she gave me the opportunity to help other poodles in need, and for that I will forever appreciate her. ❤️❤️❤️

---Update about my foster pup Cowboy, and my favorite chapter of Story Time to date. ❤️😎---

I had no intentions of being a foster when I first opened for business two months ago, let alone take care of another dog while I already have three rescues.

Nobody claimed him. Nobody came forward. Nobody inquired.

I literally just started my professional pet grooming business. I didn't know what to do or how to handle it. My stress was through the roof.

With the stressful concerns unintentionally came an opportunity I couldn't miss: further advance my education in the form of dog training and utilize these techniques in the salon.

I had all the time in the world. I just had to take action.

From being dumped in my neighborhood covered in fleas to overcoming his fear aggression of humans, it turns out all my "foster" pup Cowboy needed was to be shown a little love.

To be shown structure.

To be shown he has purpose.

To be shown not all humans are bad.

To be shown he no longer has to roam the streets.

I put that word in quotations because he is no longer my foster; he is MINE forever.

Welcome to your permanent home, Cowboy. You are an absolute joy and I hope you enjoy your stay. ❤️❤️❤️

---STORY TIME!---

🐾LOOK AT THIS PUPPY!🐾

🐾LOOK AT HOW FREAKING ADORABLE SHE IS!🐾

Welcome back to another addition of "Story Time". This one is a doozy, so let's jump right in. 😁

Meet Stella (formerly known as Noché), the bold, the beautiful, and the mischievous four month old lab mix puppy, who was recently adopted from Pinhoti Animal Rescue. ❤️

Don't let her innocent eyes fool you, or else the following WILL happen:

-Leave a pile of decadent fudge rounds on the floor and make the responsible groomer almost barf from the smell✔️

-Empty out her bladder on the floor while the groomer and owner are distracted talking about cars ✔️

-Eat all of your treats ✔️ (mandatory, anyway) ✔️

-Cause concern that the groomer accidentally tipped the quick in a nail with the dremol, only to discover one of Stella's razor sharp nails put a gash in his hand ✔️

-Make the groomer inspect her nails to make sure she wasn't quicked (she wasn't; win-win) ✔️

-Make the groomer tell his coach to tape him up and put him back in the game ✔️

-Act like the bathtub is located directly in the epicenter of Mount Vesuvius ✔️

-Develop a genuine concern that the blow dryer is out to get her ✔️

-Demand that the rest of her fur be towel dried, regardless of the groomer's objections ✔️

---Despite all the chaos, play time, desensitizing, protests, trials and tribulations, we made it through her first professional groom. I leave with a battle scar on my left hand, but she left with freshly trimmed nails, fresh fur, an obnoxiously cute bandana, and a spray of blueberry bubblegum cologne. 😎

---Getting your pup used to the grooming process, especially at a young age, will set both you and your pup up for success in the future. It's also key to use the same groomer, assuming you like what they do, that way your pup gets used to one person taking care of them. A slow introduction to each and every tool you will use in your environment will get them familiar with everything over time. The ultimate goal is to make sure your pup is happy with every visit, because their experience at the groomers will follow them home, good or bad.

That concludes today's story time, and before I go I'd like to give one more shoutout to the owner and your hospitality, for entrusting me with your new rescue pup, and for hanging out and letting me provide the opportunity to show you what goes on behind the scenes. 😎

🐾---Pet Grooming School Pup #3!---🐾

Welcome back to my school miniseries where I showcase all the different pups I had the pleasure of taking care of during professional pet grooming school to receive my certification. 😎

Today, let us talk about this sweet girl, the gentle, the giant, the beautiful German Shepherd named Kilo. ❤️

The owner told me if I gave her treats, she would become my best friend, and the owner wasn't lying one bit. 🥰🥰🥰

-I started with the pre-work procedure which consists of ear cleaning and nail trimming. I accidentally clipped the quick in one of her nails, so I immediately stopped and applied quick-stop powder and pressure on the nail for one minute until the bleeding stopped (evidence is the yellow powder on the grooming table). Once all nails have been clipped, I shaped out rough edges on each nail with the dremol (except for the nail where the quick was cut; NEVER dremol a nail after the quick is cut).

-Next step? Bath time! Kilo needed the de-shed treatment, so I started off with getting her fur soaked all the way and rubbed in tear-free blueberry facial shampoo on her face, followed by lathering the rest of her body with the de-shed shampoo and scrubbed her head to paw for ten minutes, rinsed out 80% of the shampoo then applied the de-shed conditioner and scrubbed her down for another ten minutes and rinsed thoroughly.

-Next step is the blow drying process! Most dogs become extra anxious around the dryer which is normal, so I put a happy hoodie around her head so it would muffle the loud noise. It's imperative to get the all the fur one hundred percent dry, especially around hotspots such as the paw pads, armpits, b***y and behind the ears.

-The last major step was finishing with the de-shed brush for about ten minutes or until the brush was picking up little to no fur.

-Lastly, a couple sprays of doggie cologne/perfume and a nice bandana, and of course a bit of play time and cuddles, and she was all ready to go home!

-ALWAYS inform your client if something negative happens and BE TRUTHFUL of what happened. ✔️
-Make things right. ✔️
- Have a good heart. ✔️
-Have morals. ✔️
-Don't just tell the client; show them. ✔️
-Be the pet groomer you aspire to be. ✔️
