Another no-show this morning, so here's another showcase from pet grooming school to fill the void. At least I have something humorous to write about. 😂

---🐾Grooming School Pup No.10!🐾---

This is Bear the giant poodle mix and this was when I first learned how to shave curly coated dogs and perform scissor work.

This big guy took the entire six hour class to take care of. 😅 Luckily Bear is used to the grooming process so he was calm the entire time, despite p**ping on me not once, but three times (evidence in the last picture 😭).

Twice on the grooming table and once on the drying table, and the only reason I saw him p**p on the drying table was I was drying his back legs, and I just so happened to look up near his butt and see what appeared to be a turtle head poking out. 😅

After a quick butt rinse in the tub and back to the blow dry, it was time to shave him.

You would think shaving a curly coated dog would be easy, but it's a lot more complex than I ever imagined. You can't just go guns blazing with the clipper, or else the cut may look choppy or worse case scenario, the pup may have irritation, cuts or razor burn if you're not careful.

Despite the somewhat crappy situation, we finally made it the other side. Bear went back home to his family and I drove the two hours back home from school and immediately crashed on the couch. 😴

Welcome back to the shop, Tonka the pittie mix and Chewy...whatever breed you are! 😂❤️

Tonka needed a deshedding and nail trim, while Chewy needed a full groom, going much shorter this go-around.

Both still despise the blow dryer with a burning passion, but at least Chewy decided to take a nap during his full body haircut and crashed even harder on the loveseat when I was bathing and drying Tonka. ❤️

This morning I finished up Maggie the goldendoodle's maintenance trim. ❤️

For those who missed the action yesterday, I was in the middle of doing scissor work right after her bath and blow dry when my portable AC unit decided to say "F' you", self-destruct in the middle of the blazing summer heat and spew fumes, resulting in an unfinished session coupled with airing out the shop for the remainder of the day.

A huge shoutout to her owner for selling me a spare AC unit; you are a godsend and the shop is no longer muggy and hot!

Today I took care of a sweet goldendoodle named Maggie. ❤️

Her maintenance trim grooming session was all fine and dandy until my portable AC unit self-destructed and started spewing noxious gas, so the session immediately ended and I had to send her home unfinished without a facial haircut 😭😭😭

On the plus side, at least she's comfortable with me and I was able to bathe and blow dry her. 😅

I'll be closed the remainder of the day while I wait for the air quality in my salon to get back to normal. Safety first!

Why in the world was I up til 9:30pm giving a deshedding treatment to a Belgian Malinois named Bones when I close at 8pm??

Well because screw it; why not? 😁 Someone needed my help and I was happy to oblige. ❤️

Bones is seven years old and grumpy around her owner. This was also her first professional grooming session.

Better yet, she was grumpy the entire time despite giving me a couple kisses, but it's like she completely understood the assignment, from grinding her nails to the deshedding bath and blow dry.

Despite coming out unscathed, Bones was all like "dude; just call my mom so I can go home". So I did.

Bones left feeling fresh and beautiful, and I was stuck cleaning up yet more remains of another furnado.

I wouldn't have it any other way. See ya next time, Bones. 😁😎

This morning I took care of a grumpy girl lab mix named Lulu. ❤️

Holy fluffing shed! This girl needed quite the deshedding treatment, and she walked in all like, "let's just get this crap over with".

Her buddy Ollie the Aussie Shepherd, whom I had the pleasure of taking care of a few days ago, was alongside her for emotional support. ❤️

Fur flew everywhere. It was a full-on furnado. All over the shop and Ollie was just chillin, quietly vibing like "Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!" by Dean Martin.

Despite being a grumpy girl, we got through her thorough deshedding treatment a-ok. My shop is in shambles yet again, but at least Lulu no longer has any crazy hair flying out. 😎

Hey, everyone! I hate I have to make this post, but for the sake of those who need to have their pups taken care of asap, I have to. I completely understand life throws curveballs and sinkers at us randomly, but...

-Due to multiple no-shows over the past week, with two today alone, I must ask that you please respect my time and give at least 24 hours notice, and please keep in mind this not only hurts other people who need their pups taken care of sooner rather than later, but it hurts me as well.

-Failure to arrive by 25 mins after the scheduled appointment time will be considered a no-show and your appointment will need to be rescheduled, with a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total groom. This deposit must be paid prior to rescheduling your appointment.
-A second no-show on your record will result in termination of services.

This afternoon I took care of a curious little 6 month old Shi Tsu named Trixie. ❤️

This was Trixie's second pet grooming appointment, her first with me.

Poor little lady didn't know what type of situation she was brought in to, as scared as she was.

It took a little time, but she eventually warmed up and started following me around the shop. ❤️

Trixie needed a full groom today, and the bath and blow dry was her biggest nemesis to date. She fought to escape the confines of the tub, but to no avail.

On the plus side, she was nodding off to sleep when I was shaving her with my No.1 snap-on comb, but was alert and awake and objected to the scissor work.

We gotta use baby steps when taking care of young pups so they are confident in the grooming process and set up for success, and I am feeling more confident about haircuts. It may not be perfect as I had to shave out some mats (please do not pass judgement down to the owner), but the more she comes in, the better they will be.

Today I took care of a rambunctiously challenging miniature schnauzer named Tua.

Or tried to, anyway. 😅

Tua needed a full groom today per the owner's request. Tua flat out said "Not today, sir!"

Due to the owner's limited time and Tua's temperament, I was unable to even do any scissor trimming.

Complaints and grievances were abundant with the bath and blow dry.

Nail trims? Same deal. Objection at its fullest.

The only thing he tolerated was my O-comb for his full body shave. That's a start!

This was Tua's second professional grooming appointment, and even with slow introductions to everything, things didn't go as planned. But, the more he gets used to myself and my environment, the better chances we have of setting him up for success.

That's just how pet grooming can be sometimes, as disappointed as I may be. There are brighter days ahead of us, Tua. I still love you. 😊
