As all of you know, sweet Shelby, our sanctuary horse with DSLD, isn’t doing well. She is everyone’s favorite when they come visit, but also Layla’s Mommy. Her feet really hurt, and for a while, her boots were working, but now they aren’t 🥺. We are hauling her in to Denali Farrier Pros tomorrow to get X-rays. Our vet and farrier don’t believe it’s laminitis, so we need to figure out why she’s so uncomfortable when she walks, even on her daily Equinox. I am not ready to lose her; I never will be. I really hope it’s something simple and fixable. She needs your prayers, and any donations towards her X-rays will help her a lot. Help us fight for her.

Epona and Tristan got floats today, and Rosie had a follow-up on her congestion and will more than likely need to be scoped to figure out why she's not draining it all out, even on the antihistamine he put her on. He did say she's better than she was, though.

🌹 Meet Rosie – A Beloved Heart Horse Looking for Her Forever Home 🌹

Some horses are just special, and Rosie is one of them. This sweet mare has been well-loved and cared for her entire life, and now she's looking for someone to continue that legacy of love. She is the most chill horse we have ever met. At first, we thought there might be something wrong, But her owner had plenty of pictures and videos showing her chill demeanor. 🙂

What makes Rosie wonderful: ✨ Incredibly smooth gaited ride – pure comfort in the saddle ✨ Gentle, sweet, and easy-going temperament ✨ Perfect for beginner/learning riders – patient and forgiving ✨ Gets along beautifully with other horses ✨ Still very rideable and loves her job

Rosie's story: Rosie was her owner's heart horse – that once-in-a-lifetime bond we all dream of. When severe health issues made it impossible to continue caring for her, her owner trusted Layla Rose Ranch to find Rosie the loving forever home she deserves.

Special care requirements: Rosie has Cushing's disease and requires daily medication. While this does mean a ongoing care commitment, her gentle soul, smooth ride, and loving personality make it absolutely worthwhile. Many horses with Cushing's live full, active lives with proper management!

If you're looking for a sweet, reliable mount for a young or learning rider, or simply want a gentle companion who will steal your heart, Rosie is waiting to meet you. 💕
