UPDATE: I wanted to make a more official post that I’m taking a break from training for a bit to focus on other avenues. With the pandemic, new opportunities, and Shan needing a little more of my attention the past few years, it’s been harder to be able to give training everything I feel it deserves and it’s become clear it’s time to take a break. Dog training is a huge part of who I am as a person and always will be. I’ll still be available to any past clients via text or email if something comes up and I’m always happy to help advise in any way that I can. I plan to continue education around training and hope to spend more time volunteering and doing rescue. Thank you so much to everyone whose shared their dogs and hearts with me in training over the years ❤️ Keep in touch!

Truth!

Please don't expect every dog to love every other dog!

Training using food involves so much more. There is an evidence-based plan in place.

(Edit: we learned that The Pet Behaviourist - Vanessa Ward created this infographic. Thank you, Vanessa, for this representation of the nuance of animal training!)

Did you know that toys provide more than just fun for dogs? They can also provide cozy comfort and stimulating enrichment. Shelter life can be hard to endure when you’re a dog, and something as simple as a toy or bone could make the day a lot less scary!

Our toy box is looking a little empty! We could really use some more donated toys for the shelter dogs, preferably toys sized for large breed dogs 🙏

Petco announced Tuesday that they're stopping the sale of shock collars. The pet retail giant is also calling on the industry to do the same.
