Welcome Arlo to the studio! He was referred to me for his first bath becuse he’s kind of an anxious boy. I’m so glad I can offer a quiet and calm place for those nervous pups so they can learn that grooming can be enjoyable and feel good!! He got lots of cuddles and some play time and broke right through his shell! He’s a very sweet and goofy boy 🥰🥰

I wanted to share this video for those of you who have dogs that do not tolerate their feet and legs being handled. I have several clients who’s dogs pull for legs or can get grouchy for nail trims. For those who I have mentioned this behavior to I normally get the response “but we play with “fluffy’s” feet all the time!” As I do appreciate the effort that alone is not a very successful method. In fact it either encourages the behavior or makes it worse. So- try this! Reward tolerant behavior with praise and high value treats! Consistency is key only a few minutes a day! Not only will it make grooming easier but also at the vets office for blood draws and exams. It will mean less stress for the dog and lots of praise for a job well done!❤️❤️

I try really hard to make each session for every dog a positive one. And as much as I try some dogs just don’t love getting groomed. That’s just how it is. Some may have anxiety being away from their parents, others have certain anxiety with tools or being touched . That is not the case with this girl though! This is only her second time ever and I fully believe she absolutely loves her spa day! In fact she might think it’s the best day ever! 😂 and I LOVE that! Bonnie girl I love you don’t ever change 🥰🥰
