My name is Mimms VanMeter, and I have proudly been breeding Labrador Retrievers since 2005. My journey began with a chocolate Lab who saved my life. That experience showed me the true depth of this breed’s loyalty, intelligence, and capacity for service—and it inspired me to dedicate my life to breeding Labradors of the highest quality.
At Hidden River Retrievers, we believe in pairing the best with the best to provide families and individuals with Labradors that embody health, temperament, and excellence. We spare no expense when it comes to the well-being of our dogs. Every one of our breeding dogs undergoes over 200 panels of genetic and hereditary testing, and each is OFA certified. Any outside dogs used in our program are required to meet or exceed these same standards.
Our program is located on 60 acres of secluded paradise just outside Angier, NC. At the heart of it is our state-of-the-art facility, lovingly called the “Puppy Penthouse,” where all of our litters are whelped and raised. Our puppies receive round-the-clock care, with either myself or a staff member present 24/7. The facility is also monitored by 24-hour surveillance cameras and supported with immediate access to in-house veterinary care whenever needed.
We breed responsibly and respectfully, never planning a litter without reservations already in place. Our mission is simple: to exceed the expectations of even the most discerning buyers by raising Labradors who bring joy, loyalty, and companionship to every family they join.

Hidden River Retrievers is proud do announce the arrival of The "Emma"izeeing Endearment of Hidden River Retrievers and Archer Lodge Labradors Baron "Moose" Tracks litter of 100% full blooded English Labradors. These chunks were born on 9/1/2025 and all are doing healthy and have already gained over a pound in a week.
