How Bark44 Got Its Name

Ever wonder how Bark44 came to be? It all started with a little neighborhood grocery store called Dock44.

Many years ago, this very building was home to Dock44—a small, community-driven market that wasn’t just well-loved, but also managed by members of our own family. It was a place full of warmth, connection, and good memories. So when we set out to create something new here, we knew we had to honor that legacy.

That’s how Bark44 was born:
A name inspired by Dock44, keeping a piece of the past alive—with a fun, dog-friendly twist for today’s furry friends. 🐶💙

If our logo feels familiar, that’s no coincidence! We gave it a subtle nod to the original Dock44 look—blending old roots with new paws.

So every time a pup walks through our doors, they’re stepping into more than a daycare. They’re part of a space that’s been loved, lived in, and reimagined for a whole new kind of community.
