We here at Ellis River Riders offer our riders Gymkhana shows, Open Rail shows, Jackpot show and Versatility shows! Our open shows feature both Western and English seats, with pleasure, equitation and Ranch Horse. Our Gymkhana shows have a mix of barrels, poles and other types of game classes. Our Jackpots provide riders with an opportunity to win some of their entry fees back, plus with a $25.00
Buckle Fee paid, members qualify to win a year-end buckle. We have all levels of riding from Walk/Trot, Novice/Green Horse and Over-The-Hill for those riders over the age of 55. If you decide to join, the single membership cost is only $25.00 while a family membership fee is just $30. This membership includes a subscription to the Horses Maine & NH newspaper plus multiple membership discounts at the shows. The classes are $10.00 each or if you are a member, there are reduced divisional fees as well as a special family discount for those members who have 3 or more riders participating in our shows. Our grounds consist of the riding arena, a practice ring, a food concession booth and a shady pavilion. For our riders, we offer a 16 stall barn, which is available free of charge on a first come, first serve basis. We do have water for the horses and there are tons of trails that you can access from the grounds. We feature six organized trail rides each summer, with awards given at the end of the year. If you are a member, then you are allowed to have use of the grounds at any time unless there is an event taking place. If you would like to stay overnight, then you must contact the grounds committee chairperson for details.
