NOT THE CITY'S ANIMAL CONTROL SHELTER - which also contracts as the County animal control shelter. They are still located on Coliseum Street in Andalusia and a division of the city's Andalusia Police Department. We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, community animal welfare support group. WE CANNOT ACCEPT STRAYS directly from the public due to legal and quarantine requirements. We DO NOT

receive any funding from local, state, or federal sources and rely solely on fundraisers and donations for our cointy-wide low-cost spay & neuter program.

When your dog comes to the dog pound because you’re tired of him, because he bothers you, prevents you from going on vacation or other excuses...
He sits and waits.
He's waiting for you to come get him.
A second, a minute, an hour, a day, a month, a year --- he's waiting for you.
He doesn’t know why, but he’s waiting because he trusts you, because unlike you, he loves you.
Listen up well then. Your animal is not a toy.
Think twice before getting a pet. You have the responsibility of a living being and of a family member.

During harvest season, grain fields become a death trap for helpless animals when combine harvesters arrive. Now, a groundbreaking initiative in Hungary uses thermal-camera equipped drones to scan fields early in the morning, identifying and marking locations of vulnerable animals.
