On Saturday August 8th At 11:24 pm Matcom/Ak State Troopers contacted Anchorage Search Team for a search. APD requested help in locating Michael Vogues, missing vulnerable adult missing from Arctic blvd / International road.

Incident command contacted the lead officer with APD. They had just received a tip that the subject had been seen in midtown. IC stood by for update while putting K9 assets from Northpaw K9 Search and recovery on standby . At 12:14 APD informed IC the tip did not pan out and subject was still missing.

Mission accepted and at 12:19 am Sunday the 9th and all team page was issued for Anchorage Search Team, Northpaw K9 as well as a telephone call to ASARD (Alaska Search & Rescue dogs) for Wilderness teams.

Incident command was physically established a few minutes before 1 am.

Search efforts were conducted through out the night and at approximately 9 am subject was located safe.

As always thank you to all the volunteers of the teams that always selfishly answer the call day or night, rain, shine or snow to help bring loved ones home. 🙏

Found on a local anchorage pet just 1 day ago. Yup, it's a tick. It will be sent to the state vet office for identification and possible infectious disease testing. The family was hiking near flattop in Anchorage and this little gem was found hours later. The pet has NOT been outside of Anchorage. I'm sorry to tell you that ticks ARE in Alaska. Please consider talking to your vet about whether flea/tick prevention is right for your pet.

One month after the expiration of the European Union’s ePrivacy Derogation, uncertainty remains around the impact this could have on efforts to detect and report online child sexual exploitation. Crate training IS NOT CRUEL, it can save your dogs life. During an emergency what are going to do? If you have to be evacuated to a shelter you dog will have to be in a kennel.
Not only is is a place for emergency issues, saving your house from a hosted pup during the day, it is also a safe place they can go even on their own .
