Alaska SPCA is pleased to welcome Jen Boyd to our team as the new Adoption Center Manager!

Jen brings more than 15 years of animal care experience, including operating her own dog boarding kennel. She also has a lifelong passion for horses and riding, and has provided rehabilitation and adoption assistance for breed-specific shelter pets, particularly sight hounds.

With her extensive background and compassionate energy, Jen's work will be pivotal as we continue to grow and strengthen our services on behalf of animals and the people who love them.

This sweet girl is a quiet, affectionate companion who just needs a little time to feel safe. Once she does, she’ll gently nudge you for head scratches and soak up your attention. 💕

Tuxie loves having her cozy retreat under the bed or blanket and prefers her rest time undisturbed (a polite little hiss is her way of saying “me-time!”). When she’s ready, she’ll come out to greet you with calm affection.

She’s also cat-friendly—Tuxie previously lived peacefully with three senior cats, both male and female. 🐾

This 65-lb cuddlebug is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He’s house trained, knows his basics (sit, lay down, come), and is always up for an outdoor adventure—whether that’s hiking, dog parks, or just hanging in the yard.

Theo is the sweetest, most loyal companion with the softest coat and the best floppy ears. He adores being around people (especially if snuggles are involved 💕).

Help pets find their second chances! Alaska SPCA is looking for a detail-driven, people-centered Intake & Adoption Coordinator to guide animals and adopters through every step of the journey—from first contact to “gotcha day.”

👉 What you’ll do:

✨ Welcome animals into care and ensure their info is complete
✨ Match adopters with pets and counsel them through the process
✨ Keep records accurate and organized
✨ Support our team, volunteers, and fosters
✨ Showcase adoptable pets with great photos and bios

📅 Full-time, onsite, including weekends

Alaska SPCA is looking for compassionate foster volunteers to help pets on their journey to forever homes.

✨ Medical fosters give pets a safe place to heal after surgery or illness (all vet care and supplies are covered).
✨ Behavioral fosters help pets practice learning new skills and build confidence, making them adoption-ready.

Have a recovery space to share with a pet or experience caring for a pet with a medical condition? Have experience with animal behavior and, sometimes, challenging behavior modification cases? Reach out, we'd love to hear from you!

No experience in either? That's ok! There is definitely room for you on the Foster Team.
