The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Alaska has an immediate rescue need for a 6-year-old male Berner who must be rehomed as soon as possible.

He’s been with his current family since March and has been excellent with their three young children and cats…affectionate, gentle, and loving. However, there has bern an incident where he bit after appearing to misinterpret the situation as a need to protect one of the children.

We believe his behavior stems from protective instincts and confusion, not aggression. He will need an experienced handler or foster/adopter who understands the breed, can offer structure, confidence-building, and a calm home with limited new visitors.

The situation is urgent! The family is considering euthanasia if no placement is found soon.

Join Us in the Colony Days Parade!

The parade is 2 weeks out!! We are excited to announce our participation in the Colony Days Parade on Saturday, June 14th at 11am in Downtown Palmer! This year’s theme is “Grotto Lunger Returns” so we need you and your Berner and any blue dragons you might have!!

Event Details:

Date: Saturday, June 14th
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: Downtown Palmer
Theme: Grotto Lunger Returns

Bring your dogs, dress in your best blue dragon attire (or not- not required) , and get ready to showcase the versatility and charm of our beloved breed. Whether you're highlighting their drafting skills, their status as a top conformation breed, or their role as the best friend of the family, we want to see you there!

Let’s make this year’s parade unforgettable by demonstrating the beauty and versatility of the Bernese Mountain Dog. See you there!

Our plan is to meet up at the train station downtown Palmer at 10am where we will get our assigned number.
