Anyone who has owned a Bichon Frise can attest to the amazing joy they give to their human and canine companions.

They seem to have one sole purpose in life: to love and be loved by all. We are a foster based rescue in Southern California.

Sweet Benjie has a foster-to-adopt home waiting for him in Los Angeles! Now he just needs a ride from San Jose to get there.

We’re hoping to arrange transport within the next couple of weeks, but dates and times are flexible!

If you’re heading from the Bay Area toward Los Angeles and have room for one very special passenger, Benjie would love to hitch a ride.

Can you help? Please DM us with your travel dates! If you haven’t volunteered with BRB before, please also complete our volunteer application (linked in our bio).

And if you know someone making the drive, we’d be so grateful if you’d share!

Let’s get Benjie one step closer to home.

Meet Ava and Axl, two adorable 8-year-old sweethearts who have so much love to give!

After finding themselves separated at the North Central shelter, these two were finally reunited, and their happy little personalities came shining through. 🥹❤️

Ava and Axl are affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when they’re close to their people and each other. They LOVE snuggles, enjoy their daily walks, and are equally content curled up on the couch.

Both have done well around children and other dogs. Ava is a little shy with new people, but they’re generally calm and unbothered by the world around them.

They’re doing well with their potty routines, including p*e pads, and are comfortable being left alone as long as they’re together.

Both have been spayed/neutered and received much-needed dental care. Now all that’s missing is a forever home where they can stay together. Could it be yours?

💜 FUR-EVER FRIEND: RILEY 🐾

Riley joined BRB in June with a large mass in her throat and an uncertain future.

After veterinary evaluation, surgery was not pursued. Her comfort and quality of life remain our priorities, but we’re still exploring what might help her.

Thanks to Hannah and her wonderful family, who are generously sponsoring Riley’s upcoming CT scan, we’ll be able to learn more about her condition and explore possible treatment options. 🩷

Whatever the future holds, Riley will always have a loving home and lifelong care with BRB. ❤️

Our Fur-Ever Friends depend on ongoing medical care, and monthly sponsorships help us keep that promise.

A heartfelt thank you to Hannah and her family for helping us take this next step in Riley’s care! 🩷

Our sweet Brownie, Coyote, Lola, and Troop have had their first vet visits since joining BRB, and these four seniors need some extra TLC.

All four are battling respiratory infections, with some feeling worse than others. They’re now on medication, getting plenty of rest, and receiving lots of love from their fosters Lorena D….

We also learned that the boys, Brownie and Troop, have a little weight to lose, while the girls, Coyote and Lola, need to gain a few pounds. All four need dental care, especially sweet Lola, who has significant dental issues and gum recession.

For now, we’re focused on getting everyone healthy before addressing their teeth.

Between their current treatments and upcoming dental care, these four have quite a journey ahead. Every donation helps us give them the chance to feel their very best again.

💗 Will you help this fab four get back on their paws?

We just welcomed sweet Bess to BRB, and her first vet visit revealed two serious issues: a large bladder stone and a dislocated left hip.

It’s heartbreaking to think how much pain this little girl may have endured before being rescued.

Today, Bess underwent two major surgeries to remove the bladder stone and address her hip. She was also spayed, treated for an ear infection, and received blood work and X-rays.

Her medical journey isn’t over. Bess has severely worn teeth, and at least two molars need to be extracted. She’ll return for dental surgery once she’s recovered.

For now, our sweet girl is resting and beginning to heal. ❤️

Bess’s surgeries came with a significant veterinary bill. With seven senior dogs joining BRB in the last two weeks, our medical expenses are mounting quickly.

We couldn’t turn our backs on these dogs, but we need our village’s help to give them the care they deserve.

💗 Please consider donating toward Bess’s medical care and recovery. Every contribution helps!

Every pet deserves a little moment in the spotlight! Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, marking a Gotcha Day, or honoring a beloved companion, we’d love to give them a special place in our 2027 BRB Calendar.

📸 For just $15, you can guarantee your pet a photo spot in the calendar grid! These mini photo spots fill the empty squares before or after the numbered dates of each month, just like the example above.

No contest entry or voting required! Already entered our calendar photo contest? You can do both, just submit a different photo.

Best of all, your $15 helps BRB continue rescuing and providing veterinary care for medical-needs and last-chance dogs. ❤️

⏰ Reservations close October 25!
