Pintler Pets is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 humane society in Anaconda Montana.

While the shelter is still not officially open to the public (due to Covid), meet and greets can be scheduled after an application has been submitted and approved. Please visit https://www.pintlerpetsmt.org to view our adoptable pets and adoption application. Applications must be approved before adoption and Pintler Pets reserves the right to refuse any adoption. Adoption Fees*

*All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (including Rabies if old enough and kennel cough for dogs), dewormed, and microchipped.

The Lonely Hearts Club. This is the club no dog wants to be part of - our longest term shelter residents. The hard reality of rescue is that when one Lonely Heart gets adopted, another dog quietly takes their place.

These dogs are not “less than.” Many are overlooked because they’re shy, older, misunderstood, large breed dogs, or simply because they’ve been here so long people stop noticing them. They are desperate for connection, comfort, and a family to call their own.

It’s Friday… and while everyone is heading into the weekend with plans, these boys are still here at the shelter.

Waiting for walks that last longer than a few minutes.
Waiting for a soft place to land.
Waiting for their person to finally find them.

We have a shelter full of incredible male dogs who deserve so much more than the kennel life.

Buro is a young female who just needs the right environment to thrive. The shelter is the only stability she’s known, and she’s still learning how to feel safe in the world.

She would do best as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home. While Buro can be reactive around children and unfamiliar dogs, she does well with her kennel mates—suggesting she may simply need time to settle into a new environment before any slow, structured introductions. That said, a dog-free home is still recommended for her success.

She’s looking for a patient, experienced adopter who can provide structure and consistency. With the right person, Buro has so much love and loyalty to give—she just needs that chance.

Even a foster home would make a huge difference for Buro, giving her the chance to decompress and start adjusting to life outside the shelter. That kind of stability could be a powerful first step in helping her build confidence and feel safe.

This sweet boy has been patiently waiting for his family since June 2025. He’s the kind of dog who just wants a chance. A chance to go for walks, to curl up next to someone at the end of the day, and to finally have a place to call home.

Shelter life is tough for any dog, but especially for those who have been here a while. What Frank really needs now is someone willing to see the amazing companion he can be outside of the kennel.

Otter and her son Dakota arrived on 07/13/2025 as transfers from another shelter, and they’re ready to find a home that matches their big, beautiful Husky energy and hearts.

✨ Otter is about 3 years old, sweet, smart, and full of that classic Husky charm.
✨ Dakota is her handsome 1.5 year-old son, curious, energetic, and already showing off his impressive Husky talents .

Being purebred Huskies, both Otter and Dakota would do best in a home with a secure yard and a family who understands the breed’s need for exercise, enrichment, and continued socialization. Dakota especially will need a well-secured space-this boy is clever and has already proven he can dig his way out of our kennels!

They’re friendly, fun, and full of potential for the right home that’s ready to give them structure, love, and plenty of adventures

Teddy is a sweet, loving small boy, which is extra special since we don’t often get small dogs. He has a fondness for women and is currently a bit fearful around men. He’s playful, affectionate, and does well with cats. Teddy would likely thrive as an only dog, as he’s with us because he and the other dog in his previous home didn’t get along.

He is up to date on all his shots and is neutered—now all he needs is a patient, loving home to help him feel safe and secure.

These two young pups are as sweet and lovable as they come, and somehow, they’re still waiting for their people.

Deebo is a well-mannered, loving boy who truly wants to please. He’s the kind of dog who just wants to be wrapped up in your arms and is always ready for the next cuddle. He walks beautifully on a leash and is constantly checking in with his handler, making him a joy to take out and about. With his affectionate nature and eager-to-please personality, Deebo is going to make someone an incredibly lucky best friend.

Sophie is that she’s an absolute gem. She’s spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to go, go, go! She’s truly a blank slate, just waiting for someone to help her write the next chapter of her life. Sophie is a quick learner, though she hasn’t had much formal training yet, making her a wonderful opportunity for someone who’s excited to shape, teach, and grow alongside a young, eager dog.
