The Town of Babylon covers 53 square miles and is serviced by 3 Animal Control Officers who enforce Article 7 of the Agriculture and Markets Law of New York State and the Local Laws and Ordinances of the Town of Babylon. There are several kennel attendants to care for the 3,600 animals which enter the shelter each year. The attendants also assist the public to adopt and redeem dogs. There is an ad

option rate of over 80%. Office staff consists of clerical staff who handle the daily transactions for redemptions and adoptions as well as other office duties. The shelter is under the direct charge of the animal shelter Director who administers the operation of the shelter.

Bambi is a playful and loving girl with a big heart and an even bigger love for fetch and swimming — she’s truly an expert in the water and would thrive with an active, adventurous family. She's also very smart and enjoys learning, playing, and being by your side.
While Bambi has so much love to give, she struggles with anxiety when left alone and needs a committed, experienced adopter who can help her feel safe and secure. She’s looking for a calm, adult-only home with no other pets, where she can be the center of attention and get the structure and support she needs.
In the right home, Bambi will be an incredible, loyal companion — playful, affectionate, and always ready for her next adventure (or cuddle). She just needs someone who understands her, believes in her, and won’t give up on her.

Brownee has spent nearly his entire life in a kennel, arriving at the shelter when he was just 10 months old. Despite his unguided start in life, he’s made incredible progress and is now ready for a committed, experienced adopter who can help him continue to thrive.
This smart, capable boy has learned many commands here and does best with consistent structure and guidance. He’s looking for an adult-only home where he can be the only pet — not because he’s unfriendly, but because he does best with a calm, focused environment where he can continue building confidence.

We took Ann in several days after the members of her home were evicted from the home. We knew she had been left behind without a food source any longer. Ann easily and hungrily came with us to the shelter. Ann now happily resides in our colony room with several other cats. She can transition into a home with the space she needs to get comfortable. Ann can thrive in a home where she can decompress, acclimate, and learn at her terms!!!

Please don't pass up this amazing guy just because he is diabetic. Shadow is literally that.... He just wants to be with you. Shadow is at the time, maintained medically with just diabetic cat food. There is the chance that could change in his future. Shadow can hang out with kitties after acclimating to them, but all he really wants is to be with his people!
