There is far more to horseback riding than the casual observer might expect. And, there are benefits beyond simple enjoyment; physically, mentally and emotionally. safe horses! Horsemanship lessons at Royal Delight Stables aim to teach the total horse-care experience. Your will learn the correct way to safely halter, lead, tie, groom, tack up and of course ride. (Grooming & tacking up, as well, as untacking and cooling out the horse are part of the lesson) We believe that proper horse care and education are just as important as riding time. We offer English, Western and Ba****ck Instruction. We like to let the kids try out different riding styles, and eventually pick up the discipline they want to focus on. I teach proper equitation, balanced, deep seat and quite hands in both discipline. Also for children age 6 and under we offer the “The Preschool Experience” for $20.00 for half-hour. This is a unique program that offers preschoolers the chance for one-on-one interaction with horses. The lesson includes meeting and getting the child comfortable with the horse on the ground, learning safety, feeding treats, petting and learning parts of the horse, grooming & learning to hold the lead rope, how to put on a halter on the horse, and lead the horse around with help and then independently. (Learning “how to think like a horse)” Plus getting a ride around the pasture. These lessons eventually progress to regular riding lessons in the saddle, (learning to ride independently) once a child has learned the groundwork skills and is comfortable around horses. All students are required to wear approved Safety Helmets which I can provide for you or you may purchase if you wish! We also offer training and riding lessons at your location and on your horses.
