Aris vom Waldgeist's first goose hunt was a success! Aris and her owner have turned into quite the duo this summer. We are so proud of the work they have put in and the bond they have formed- now it's time to reap the rewards of all the training and enjoy hunting season.

Birdie vom Waldgeist learning the drahthaar ropes at the Colliers Mills (NJ) training day last weekend. At ~7 months old, she had a great outing and continues to impress us. Less than two months until her first hunting season!

Aris vom Waldgeist with head trainer and kennel boss Jenna. Jenna is wrapping up force fetch with Aris before she heads to her new home in Maine. This was her second time forcing across water. Our training pond is swollen from weeks of rain which resulted in 65 yard blinds. She is looking like she’ll be a beast of a water dog!

With spring testing season coming to a close, we wanted to take a moment to thank all the dedicated “A” litter owners who ran their dogs in the VJP this year. We were fortunate to have all seven handlers follow through with the natural ability test this spring.

As a breeder, this kind of participation is incredibly valuable. It gives us important insight into the strengths of the litter and helps shape the future of our kennel.

We’re proud of how consistently this group performed. Their results speak to both the dogs’ potential and the effort their handlers put in. We are excited to continue to watch them develop into strong hunting partners this summer.

The B litter started departing Waldgeist HQ early this morning to start their new adventures. 3 experienced handlers carpooled out from Ohio and picked up 4 pups with plans to drop off one of the hitchhikers in NY on their way back west. This is the video we got from Tammy Figler documenting the pitstop in NY. All the big boys and their little baby puppies 😂

7 weeks old yesterday! It's been a super busy week for everyone as evidenced by the tardiness of this weeks photos! Pups continue to grow physically and their personalities shine bright. The snow/ice and freezing temps have been tough on us humans but the puppies don't seem to mind too much. Tomorrow the group will receive their registration numbers and names!

Update: Male pup has found a home in Ohio. Thanks everyone.

The B Litter is somehow already 6 weeks old today. They have been braving the cold and getting outside this week and have really impressed us with their boldness and adaptability. They are doing great with keeping their indoor pen clean as it expands and are learning that crates are a great place to rest between adventures. Due some outside circumstances, we do have one male puppy looking for a hunting home. PM for details.upda
