Beware the new Apoquel chewables, they're pork-flavored and are "unusually enticing" and cats and dogs have gotten into these meds and overdosed and died. Please read if you use this allergy medication for your animal. Store in a pantry or drawer that curious pets cannot pry open!

Rainy days and Tuesdays never keep us down! Although Anko sailed through a deep mud puddle, we had fun and he was more or less dried off by the time we got back home. I don't know if I've ever known a dog who loves his walks more! (Just all of them lol)

Have you ever thought about being a foster parent for an animal shelter, but weren't sure what all was involved? Maybe you were excited by the idea, but the concept of diving feet first was a bit overwhelming? Well, we have the event for you!

Next Wednesday, the 28th, we'll be having an informational session about fostering kittens! We're entering our busiest time of the year for kittens and their moms coming in, which means we need YOU to join our foster group so we can save them!

The event will take place at 1800 E 13th St (the Ames Water Treatment Plant - They have a WONDERFUL conference room we can use!) for just an hour from 6-7 PM. Our staff will talk what to expect from the program, and one of our amazing foster parents will be there to share his story and experiences as a foster parent.

Because seats are limited, sign-ups are required! You can sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0848A4AF2BA5F49-56999826-fostering. Families are welcome to attend, but you must list the number of all attendees that will need a seat in your sign-up.

We hope to fill the room with some amazing foster families who are ready to learn more and get started.
