How we serve you:
Protecting and enriching our environment while providing yummy fruits, vegetables, herbs and beautiful flowers for you. We create an environment where plants thrive and the environment doesn’t pay the toll; happy environment, happy plants, happy you. We all know that use of chemical fertilizer and pesticides have had and continue to take a toll on the environment and our bodies.
The food that you and I eat is important to us. The practices used by our farm are sustainable, and environment enriching. We work with the environment rather than against it. We use companion planting; a system of planting plants together that mutually benefit each other. It may be that one plant helps to attract beneficial insects that prey on the ‘bad’ bugs of the garden who like to eat everything we don’t want them to, or it may be that another plant helps prevent certain types of diseases or fungus, also some companion planting helps improve vegetable, and fruit flavor. We thrive on a system called permaculture where we have permanent vegetable and flower bed locations. We use the contours of the land to help irrigate effectively and we take advantage of making microclimates where vegetables and herbs can thrive. We use organic methods in trouble areas, when there is a bug problem, a disease that creeps in, or a fungus that is among us. We use ducks as pesky bugs eaters, and our cats chase the mice away. We don’t kill wasps or bees, that's a big no no, both help pollinate and wasps love eating those caterpillars that plague the brassicaceae family of veggies. We provided great tasting gluten-free giant cookies for you and/or your loved ones:
We bake absolutely gluten-free products that taste amazing! There are three different people groups that are attracted to gluten-free products: those that just prefer it, those that feel physically better while eating and those that actually have an allergy -celiacs disease- where if they eat gluten, they could incur damage to the small intestine leading to all kinds of health problems, including cancer. Even little partials of gluten can affect those with this type of allergy, so it is very important that the environment, utensils, mixers and any ingredients used be 100% gluten-free. My sister has been a celiac for 10+ years, so her health and others affected by this disease is very important to me. You will love our gluten-free cookie.
