animals like pets, not money making machines. Our fish come from a facility that quarantines them for a week before we are even allowed to purchase them, and our birds come from two breeders, one for small birds and one for larger species, as well as taking in rescue and rehome flock members. 🌿🦁 What an amazing day! 🦓🐒

A huge THANK YOU to everyone at Living Treasures Animal Park of the Laurel Highlands for providing such a fun, educational, and memorable experience for our volunteers! Our group had an absolute blast exploring the park, meeting incredible animals, and learning so much along the way.

We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the parents who trusted us with their children and helped make this field trip possible. Your support means the world to us.

Today, Miss Nina and our amazing young volunteers had the opportunity to get up close with wildlife, ask questions, make memories, and enjoy a day filled with learning and adventure. Seeing the excitement on their faces is exactly why we love providing these opportunities for our kids.

Thank you again to Living Treasures for your hospitality and to all of our volunteers for being such a fantastic group. We can’t wait for our next adventure! ❤️

🐍 Meet the Shield-Nose Cobra! 🐍

Don’t let the name fool you—this fascinating little cobra is packed with personality! Shield-nose cobras get their name from the enlarged scales on the tip of their nose, which help them burrow through loose soil in search of food and shelter.

Despite being a true cobra, they’re much smaller and more secretive than many of their famous relatives. Their smooth scales, earthy colors, and curious behavior make them one of the most underrated snakes in the reptile world.

⚠️ As with all venomous species, these animals require specialized knowledge, training, and secure housing.
