I didn’t know this fact about Lantana until today. I thought I would share this valuable information to the pond owners that plant Lantana around their ponds.

The immature berries of the Lantana plant are poisonous to fish, as well as to people and other animals. Lantana contains toxins like lantadenes, which can cause various toxic effects, and is often listed in databases of plants harmful to fish. Therefore, Lantana should be kept away from fish ponds to prevent poisoning.
Why Lantana is toxic?

The leaves and other parts of the lantana plant contain a toxin known as lantadene
A and B which will poison your fish.
