Hi, I’m Katie — the face behind the dogs 🐾

I own a grooming salon here in Ambler, and over the past few years I’ve worked really hard to create a space where dogs feel comfortable, understood, and well cared for.

Grooming, to me, isn’t just about how a dog looks when they leave (although that matters too ✂️✨) — it’s about making sure they feel safe throughout the process and tailoring each groom to what that individual dog needs.

We’re currently in a season of growth, which means we’re able to welcome some new clients 💛
Whether your dog is easygoing, a little nervous, or somewhere in between — we take the time to do things the right way.

Most dogs carry tension, stiffness, or subtle discomfort… and they never tell us.

But you can see it if you know what to look for.

They move a little slower.
They hesitate before jumping.
They just seem a bit less fluid… or not quite like themselves.

Over the past couple of weeks, we introduced canine massage here at Hair of the Dog — and the response has been really special to watch.

Dogs that come in a little unsure…
leave more relaxed, more comfortable, and more at ease in their bodies.

And for dogs who tend to be a bit more sensitive or anxious, it can be an especially calming, grounding experience.

And the best part?

It’s done in the same calm, patient, dog-first environment you already trust us for.

No rushing.
No forcing.
Just gentle, intentional care focused entirely on your dog’s comfort and wellbeing.

This isn’t about fixing something “wrong.”
It’s about supporting dogs who are already well cared for… and helping them feel even better.

We have a few massage openings available this Friday, and we’d love to offer them to dogs who could truly benefit.
