I AM NOT KENNEL FREE....
Well, today is a snow day, I hope everyone is driving safe if you have to get out, or staying warm and safe at home.
So I had an incident this week that is weighing on my mind, A lady called and booked an appt, she came in and said that her baby couldn't go in a kennel because he had major anxiety, ok, he can walk around, she said no he can't walk around either, and she says she will go somewhere else.. OK, Those are questions she should have asked before booking the appt. So I thought I would explain why I use Kennels, why they are safer for your baby.
1. Kennels: I don't do cage-free for safety reasons, in my opinion when dogs are all running around together regardless if your baby is good with other dogs, it still could prompt a fight, if a female is in heat I don't want a male dog to get to them, also when they are running around they will potty everywhere, I don't want them all stepping in it ewww. The safety is for both me and the dogs, when you have somewhere between 8-15 dogs running around, someone is going to get tripped, I don't want to be injured, and I don't want to fall on a baby either.
Some babies that may have anxiety even though it may stress them out just a bit to be in a kennel really don't mind it they settle down once mom/dad leave, I also try to get them done ASAP to get them home and less stressed. My Kennels have Beds or blankets in them as long as they don't try to tear them up they will always have a bed or blanket. I will say 98% of my clientele are completely fine with kennels, and like I said before if I know that your baby is really not fine with being in a kennel, I will try to get them out as soon as I can, My salon is like an assembly line, they come in get prepped for the bath while they are getting a bath I start another one or 2 then I go back and start to finish so its back and forth experience.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, but I PROMISE you they are just fine
Yall stay safe and warm today.
