Amarillo Zoo Over 120 animals representing over 70 species from around the world call the Amarillo Zoo home.

Founded in 1955 the Amarillo Zoo is a place to share the wonders of the animal world with kids of all ages. The beautiful 15-acre site is located in Thompson Park and features over 60 species of animals. The zoo is designed for fun and discovery and will provide a lifetime of memories. Here, you'll do more than just look...you'll experience the animal world.

Have any non-treated, uncarved, and unpainted pumpkins to spare this holiday season? Drop them off at the Amarillo Zoo! 🐻🍂

Pumpkins are natural sweet treats AND act as dewormers for bears, bison, camels, donkeys, pigs, and turkeys! Even our big cats like playing with them!

Please consider donating to the Amarillo zoo to enrich the lives of these animals. The Amarillo Zoo is located within Thompson Park at 700 Comanchero Trail.

🌟🐾 Important news for our homeschooling families! Join us for Homeschool at the Zoo (HATZ), where learning meets adventure! 🦁📚

**Please note that the dates of HATZ have changed from our previous post. Every Thursday from October 30th to December 11th, your kids (ages 5-12) can explore the wonders of wildlife while engaging in hands-on educational activities. 🐒✨

🗓️ No class on November 27th
⏰ Time: 10 AM - 12 PM
💲 Cost: $200

This is a drop-off program, so parents can enjoy some free time while their kids dive into the animal kingdom! 🦓🌿

Make science engaging this fall! Our homeschool program at the zoo focuses on Animal Adaptations and runs from October 21st to December 2nd.

Over six weeks, students will analyze physical and behavioral adaptations using the zoo's real-life examples, making lessons on biology and survival come alive. This is an excellent supplement to any science curriculum.

Don't miss out on this unique educational experience! Register now:
