Please, if you are wanting to add a new family member to your family:
If you are wanting a male, please be sure and ask if both of his testicles have dropped.
It is very important to know.
Any honest, reputable breeder will have all of their puppies checked by a vet prior to sending them home with their new families.
To get a puppy that is 5 months old with breeding rights and travel round trip upwards of 10 hours only to get home and find out he only has one descended testicle is heart breaking to say the least. (Lesson learned on my part) Not to mention the future potential health risks like cancer, inevitable neuter, and costly surgery to remove the undecended testicle.
To add to the equation the breeder was uncooperative and unwilling to work out any agreement or compensation. Only resolution given was to return the puppy for a refund. As anyone might imagine, after you have brought a new puppy home and had him for several days, the last thing you want to do is make another long trip to take him back.
It only takes minutes for a puppy to steal your heart.
