Friday August 29 - Heavy rain this evening and overnight could cause flooding in the northwestern panhandle. As such, the NWS has issued a Flood Watch between 7:00 PM CDT through late tonight. Most of the 806 should see some rain overnight. Please be safe if you're traveling tonight, and please turn around don't drown.

The Canadian river north of Amarillo has seen a steady rise throughout this morning. While flood stage is not expected to be reached, the river will be up and running over 6 feet deep through the middle of this week so those planning to be at the river should do so with caution.

Current flow rate is 62 acre-feet per hour. A few thousand acre-feet of water is expected to pour into Lake Meredith this week.
