I am so proud of this kid today! 🐐💚 He listened, he learned, and honestly he grew more today than he has the whole year of showing these goats. In just 15 minutes in the ring, he showed off everything he picked up—and it was amazing to watch. 🥹✨

So excited to see him step into the sale ring on Friday (which just so happens to be my birthday 🎉🥰). Couldn’t ask for a better gift than watching him shine!

Today was a looonnngggg day at the fair! 😅🐐🐇

✅ Dairy goat show this morning — Dallas did great!
✅ Rabbit showmanship — we aren’t really “rabbit people,” but it was so fun watching him learn and work with his project this year.
✅ Market goat showmanship — it was a long one, and by the end Dallas was definitely over it 😂 but he still showed well, even if he didn’t place.

Proud of him for giving his best in every single ring. 💚 These are the days full of memories (and tired feet)!

So proud of Dallas today at his very first Fair Pygmy Goat Show! 🐐💚 He did amazing—placing 5th in his showmanship class out of 7 or 8 brand-new first-year 4-H exhibitors, and his handsome wether brought home 4th place out of 10 in the growing boys class! 👏✨

Tomorrow at 9 a.m., he’ll be showing his two dairy goats—can’t wait to see him in the ring again! What an awesome start to his show journey—we couldn’t be more proud! 💪🐾

I don’t care about winning. Sure, it’s fun and exciting to get a ribbon, but the real win for me is seeing my boy out in the ring smiling—even when his goat is acting up. He’s out there having fun, staying calm, and not getting frustrated. And if you know Dallas, you know that’s a HUGE win in itself. I’ll take that over any ribbon any day! 🐐❤️👏

✨ What an experience! ✨
Dallas may not have placed high on his MQP project this year, but the journey was full of learning and memories. Out of 14, his doe placed 11th 🐐.

The judge even pointed out something unique—she had 14 ribs instead of the normal 13! No advantage or disadvantage, just an interesting little twist that made her one of a kind. 💫

It was eye-opening to learn how the carcass is judged and to see firsthand what goes into the process. We’re taking all of this as a learning experience and are already excited for next year! 💪❤️
