🎉 That's a wrap on Day 1 here at Youth Midsummer, and what a day it has been for Macnificent RS! 🌟

James Fehr and Nifty had a fantastic day, picking up ribbons and qualifying for the finals in both Hunter Seat Pleasure JTR Select 15-18 and Hunter Seat Equitation 18 and Under. 🏅🏅

Shea Johnson and Macnificent RS also shone bright, securing a Top Ten spot in Dressage Training Level! 🏆

We're incredibly proud of our team and their hard work. It takes a dedicated group to keep everything running smoothly, and we're grateful for the amazing efforts of everyone involved. 💪👏

Alamo Veterinarian Spotlight: Mariah Kerr DVM

Dr. Kerr’s passion for horses began at her family’s dairy farm in Arizona. While working on her degree in Agribusiness from ASU she competed on the intercollegiate rodeo team.

After receiving her DVM from Colorado State University, Dr. Mariah completed a year-long internship at Alamo Pintado. She then joined us as a staff veterinarian with a special interest in sports medicine and podiatry.

One of her proudest accomplishments as a vet is her published work: “Evaluating and Balancing the Distal Limb Using Specific Anatomical and Radiographic Parameters”, which she presented at the national conference for the American Association of Equine Practitioners. Using the data and knowledge from this study, Dr. Mariah is better able to serve her patients by working together with owners and farriers to prevent and treat lameness.

Dr. Kerr takes great pride in her work and is constantly educating herself. From her meticulous suturing skills to her use of alternative topical dressings, we have witnessed first-hand her innovative and effective approach to wound healing.

From routine care, to handling emergencies, to creative and inventive therapies, Dr. Kerr is here to help!

What clients are saying:

Dr. Kerr is proficient and empathetic. She explained the diagnosis and laid out all the options for our lame horse. She took the time to answer our questions and made sure we understood the steps to get him back on track.

Dr. Mariah kept in contact with us with updates on our horse when it was in the hospital. She was calming and professional. We knew our horse was in good hands and giving us peace of mind.

Her kindness and compassion helped us through a difficult situation. She talked us through all she was doing and why. It was comforting to have someone so confident, and kind show up in an emergency.

I wasn’t sure my laminitic pony was going to make it. Dr. Kerr laid it out a treatment plan that included acute and long-term pain management, close work with the farrier, and diet modifications that helped turn everything around for him. I am confident that the reason he is sound and happy again is because of her expertise.
