Let’s talk about our human clients for a moment. ❤️

I genuinely adore and appreciate mine. I’m incredibly blessed with a clientele that trusts me not only with their dogs, but also with the education and guidance I provide to help them care for their pets.

In our industry, I often hear people say, “I don’t work for the humans, I work for the dogs.” And while our priority should always be the dog’s comfort, safety, and well being, it’s important to remember that these dogs are someone’s family. They are deeply loved, and the people bringing them to us are placing a tremendous amount of trust in our hands.

One of my favorite parts of grooming is getting to know each human client. Building those relationships helps me understand their expectations, their concerns, and what they love most about their dogs. When clients feel heard, respected, and valued, they’re more comfortable bringing their pets to us! and that confidence matters.

The relationship with a dog often starts with the relationship you build with their human. If an owner feels nervous, uncertain, or uncomfortable, their dog is likely to feel that same energy. Trust, communication, and kindness create a foundation that benefits everyone involved.

Of course, not every groomer and client will be the right fit, and that’s okay. Groomers have the right to decline services when a relationship isn’t healthy, and pet owners have every right to seek a groomer who better aligns with their needs. There’s no need for conflict or negativity.

At the end of the day, our success with the dog begins with their humans. When we approach both with compassion, respect, and understanding, we create a better experience for everyone! And most importantly, for the dogs we all care so much about. 🐾
