Update on orphan filly. We could not find a nurse mare so have been feeding her a milk replacer produced by Cargill. All staff and many volunteers are coming by to feed her every 2 hours. She can drink as much as she wants at each feeding and now is up to three baby bottles each session. She shares the stall with a goat and they are friends, but the filly is the boss. We are now working on putting a bucket with a ni**le on it so she can eat whenever she is hungry. Thank you all for your help in trying to find a nurse mare for her. I will try to attach some photos of her and her best friend to this post.

Good news/bad news. Our trainer Robert Rush, got offers to be an assistant trainer from some of the most prominent trainers in the reining industry. While we hate to lose such a talented individual we wish him the best of luck and contined success as he seeks to increase his knowledge of training reining horses.

Brigadoon Farm welcomes Robert Rush back! Robert worked here as an intern and then went to work with several reining trainers. His first horse show here was the Heritage Reining Futurity in Katy, Texas. He earned money at the show and coached an eight year old in the short stirrup class. Both the girl, Issy and the horse, Poppy had never been shown before. We are thrilled at Robert's talent and at his awesome training and teaching abilities. Robert is currently accepting outside horses for training and is available for reining lessons. Brigadoon Farm also has a western riding lesson program for riders of any age.. Warning!!! We will try to make reiners out of all our western riders!
