🐴 2027 Breeding Season Announcement 🐴

At Arrow P Performance Horses & Repro LLC, our mission has always been simple:

healthy mares, quality care, and successful foals

As we continue to grow our breeding program, we're excited to announce an update to our stallion services beginning with the 2027 breeding season

To provide a more predictable and client-focused experience, we will be transitioning to a seasonal collection fee of $400, which includes up to three collections per breeding season. This does not include shipping and/or AI fees.

We understand that breeding horses doesn't always go according to plan. Mares don't always follow the textbook timeline, and occasionally shipping delays or lost semen shipments happen. At Arrow P, we believe those situations shouldn't place the entire burden on our clients. When you breed through our program, we're in it together and are committed to working alongside you to help your mare settle in foal.

To help ensure the best possible breeding outcome, a clean uterine culture will be required before a third shipment. This requirement allows us to identify and address any underlying uterine issues that could affect conception and helps protect both your investment and the health of your mare.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 season- we are closed until the 2027 season.

At Arrow P Performance Horses & Repro LLC, my goal has always been to provide the highest level of reproductive care for every mare entrusted to our family. To continue delivering that level of service while balancing my full-time career as an educator, we will be transitioning to **package-based reproductive services only** beginning next breeding season.

As a result, we will **no longer offer à la carte services or single-haul appointments**.

We will continue to offer both **Cooled Semen AI Packages** and **Frozen Semen AI Packages**, giving mare owners the flexibility to choose the option that best fits their breeding goals.

Clients will have two options:

* **Breeding Management:** Haul your mare to Arrow P, where she will remain in our care throughout the breeding process until she is confirmed in foal. That service can begin in November IF you would like to start the light protocol and your place is not set up for that to happen (not required for later season breeders)

* **Short-Term AI Stay:** Haul your mare in for her breeding cycle, leave her with us while we monitor, manage, and perform the insemination, and then pick her up once the breeding services have been completed—typically within **3–4 days**, depending on her status.

Transitioning to package services allows us to:

* Provide comprehensive reproductive management from start to finish.
* Closely monitor your mare throughout her breeding cycle.
* Better coordinate scheduling and semen arrivals.
* Continue providing the individualized care and attention each mare deserves.

This change is being made to ensure we can continue offering the quality, consistency, and success our clients have come to expect. We appreciate your understanding and continued trust in Arrow P Performance Horses & Repro LLC, and we look forward to helping you achieve another successful breeding season.

Updates being made at Arrow P

Road into and through the barn have been raised to ensure rain or shine clients have access.

Entry way will be 24’ instead of 12’ to allow easier entry points for all rigs.

Now is the time to claim your stall for winter light protocol boarding.

When selecting your next broodmare/recip or deciding if your mare is a good candidate

Make sure to take a look see under her tail

The vulvar lips should meet evenly and appear full and firm. They function as a seal against external contamination of the uterus. Conformational defects can lead to pneumovagina, urovagina, and accumulation of intrauterine fluid.

A caslicks procedure can be done in some cases- make sure to partner with your vet if your mare shows a lack of vulvar lip sealing so they can discuss options that may benefit your program.

We are happy to schedule appts at Arrow P with your vet and myself to ensure we are all on the same page working together towards your breeding goals.

Breeding season has wound down or will end soon for most of us for the 2026 season.

That means we start making plans for the 2027 season 🤪

Some of you will be in the market for a broodmare(s), recipient mare(s) or deciding if your mare will make a good broodmare. There are a few things to take note for yourself and your repro manager.

1. What is her reproductive history?
Ask:
Has she produced foals before?
Did she settle on the first breeding?
Has she ever been open when expected to conceive?
Any history of uterine infections, retained placenta, dystocia, or pregnancy loss?

2. Has she had a recent reproductive check?
It should include:
Uterine and ovarian ultrasound
Cervical check
Confirmation she is free of significant fluid
A breeding soundness check can identify potential issues before they become expensive problems.

3. What is her temperament and overall management?
Temperament matters more than many people realize.
Ask:
Is she easy to handle during breeding checks?
Does she trailer, stand tied, and behave for routine checks?
Is she a good mother?
Does she require special management or medications? HUGE!
A mare with a calm disposition makes breeding, foaling, and raising a foal much less stressful.

Arrow P is adjusting services that will be offered for the 2027 season and these are a few of the initial questions that will be asked during your first consultation.

Mares that require medications to allow for Artificial Insemination/Embryo Transfer to be completed will be in partnership or referred to a veterinarian.
