Giving stray/abandoned cats a second chance by providing vetting, spay/neuter and a furever home! Welcome to Second Chance Strays Cat Rescue & Lounge!

We are located in Blair County PA. We take in stray, unwanted, and surrendered cats and kittens. All kitties are spayed/neutered, age appropriately vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and tested for FeLV/FIV before adoption. All adoptable cats/kittens will be placed in the cat lounge for the public to meet! The hours on our page are for the cat lounge. You do not need to adopt to come visit our ca

ts, they love having visitors while they wait for their furever homes! We run off of donations for our kitties in need however we are not a 501c3 just yet! Our goal is to be one by the end of 2024! Attention! We are looking for volunteers!

We hold volunteer hours every single morning from 9-11AM (we are here way longer and you’re more than welcome to stay longer)! If you’d like to join our volunteer team, please click the link below! Also, make sure to download the connectteam app so you can fully utilize our volunteer portal and claim some volunteer shifts!❤️

We are completely volunteer based and right now we could use the help as we are here daily cleaning and taking care of the kitties!

Some volunteer responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•scooping litter boxes
•wiping surfaces
•cleaning kennels
•vacuuming
•mopping
•cleaning food/water dishes and refilling them

*Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older with a parent/guardians permission. Children younger than 16 years of age must have a parent/guardian present while volunteering*

‼️WE WILL BE CLOSED MAY 31st‼️

We will be doing a big clean out day this Saturday going through our supplies and reorganizing! If anyone would like to volunteer this day and help us with the clean out it would be greatly appreciated!

We will be starting at 9AM and ending whenever we are finished! The more volunteers we can secure, the quicker and easier it will be!

Say hello to 2-year-old Cecelia, our stunning tuxedo beauty who’s been charming everyone at the lounge for the past six months with her playful spirit and sweet nature. She came to us with two friends—all appropriately named after energy drinks. Cecelia’s was Celsius, of course.😹

Cecelia is a toy enthusiast and never turns down a good play session. Whether it's chasing feathers or batting around a ball, she’s always ready for fun. But don’t let her playful side fool you—Cecelia takes her self-care seriously. She’s been seen meticulously grooming herself in preparation for meeting her forever family.

This social sweetheart would make a wonderful addition to almost any home. She gets along well with children, other cats, and even dogs! With her affectionate personality and confident charm, Cecelia is more than ready to leave the lounge life behind and settle into her new home.

WARNING: GRAPHIC😭😭

We got a call for help about a cat that was suspected to be hit by a car and has deep open wounds full of maggots😭

Sgt Plummer from Altoona Police Department reached out for help with this kitty and brought him over immediately. He’s being seen by our vet ASAP!

Best case scenario we think he will need his tail maybe amputated and wounds flushed. Worst case scenario, we will hold him while we help him cross the rainbow bridge😭💓

If anyone could donate towards his care, we would really appreciate it. Your support allows us to keep helping a bunch of babies who need us!❤️

Purrfect Pick of the Week: Meet Leo!

Don’t let the name fool you—Leo may be named after the king of the jungle, but this three-year-old sweetheart is more of a lap lion than a wild one.

Leo is a gentle soul with regal charm. He loves treats, toys, and keeping a watchful eye on his kingdom—especially when you’re cleaning the litter box. (He takes his royal duties seriously.) A true supervisor at heart!

He gets along well with other cats. We don’t know much about how he feels about dogs in his jungle, but with his confident, calm demeanor, we think he could be open to a respectful introduction.
