One of the most rewarding parts of being involved with the Drahthaar breed organization (VDD) is the incredible community it creates. Being a breeder is more than just producing quality dogs — it’s becoming part of a secondary family. Over the years, I have been fortunate to meet so many fantastic people through these dogs, many of whom have become lifelong friends.
Another part of this journey that I need to get better about is recognizing my puppy buyers. They have put in countless hours training, testing, and hunting with their Vom Ridgeline dogs. Their dedication helps bring out the best in these dogs and builds the partnerships that make this breed so special.
Every year we receive pictures, updates, and stories — and each one reminds us why we do what we do. These successes, whether they come through formal testing or simply creating a dependable hunting companion, deserve to be celebrated.
With that, I’d like to recognize Wyatt Sorensen for an outstanding testing season with his dog, Lenny. Wyatt, you’ve invested time, effort, and resources to create a lifetime hunting partner, and we are proud to celebrate your accomplishments. We look forward to hearing many more stories and seeing future updates from you and Lenny.
I also want to thank Ryan Taylor, owner of stud dog Vox. Ryan is not only a tremendous asset to the club but also spends time helping others succeed — including mentoring Wyatt along this journey.
Most importantly, I want to offer a sincere thank you to everyone who has, over the years, become part of the Vom Ridgeline family. Your commitment, friendship, and passion for this breed are what make this so special.
Congratulations, Wyatt and Lenny! Your dedication and hard work deserve to be recognized. Here’s to many more seasons of success ahead...
