Olive is our Pet of the Week this week!
Today is the last day to adopt Olvie for only $50, half the normal adoption fee. The fee includes spay, heartworm test, microchip and vaccinations.
Olive came into the shelter December 2nd surrendered. Her previous family initially found her in San Antonio and had kept her for a while but decided it could not be permanent.
We were given some great info from the previous owners. She is good with other dogs, cats and kids. We were also told she is an absolute pro on a leash which we can confirm although she has a habit of walking around the person she’s walking with instead of straight, she’s working on it!
She seems to be pretty potty trained; she doesn’t make a mess of her kennel if she can help it. This girl needs all the toys; she tends to play with her water bowl if she is bord so make sure she is provided with some extra fun things to do and she will be one happy girl. She is a Velcro dog, once she gets to know you, she will follow you wherever you go.
Come meet Olive today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.

Freya came into the shelter September 16th found running loose in the city limits of Alpine. We could not believe that she was never reclaimed, she has been fabulous!
She tested positive for heartworm shortly after her arrival and started treatment immediately. That is the sole reason why she has been with us so long, we wanted to get her through treatment. She actually comes off of kennel confinement 12/22 and can go home immediately.
Freya had an adopter lined up this whole time but, sadly that fell through so, we are looking for a new adopter for her.
Freya has not been in play groups with other dogs yet, but she does really well walking by the other dogs and will approach a neighboring kennel calmly to say hello. She has been very friendly with every person she has met so far and has done really well walking on a leash. We also believe she is potty trained; she keeps her kennel clean and will wait for her turn in the yard for her potty break. We have also found she knows sit and how to give you her paw.
Our staff says that their favorite things about Freya is that she is gentle, sweet, smart, treat motivated, very understanding and a good listener. What a bunch of great characteristics!
Please come meet Freya today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.
