When diarrhea lingers or starts getting worse, it can sometimes point to something more serious underneath.

Princess Buttercup came to our team after experiencing diarrhea that had been ongoing for several weeks and worsening over the last few days. An ultrasound revealed a foreign body along with enlarged lymph nodes near the area of concern.

During surgery, a sizeable hairball was found trapped where the small intestine meets the large intestine. Fortunately, biopsies showed inflammation related to the obstruction rather than something more concerning, and Princess Buttercup is now recovering nicely. 💜

Cases like this are an important reminder that persistent gastrointestinal signs should not be ignored, especially when symptoms continue or worsen over time. Early diagnostics can make a significant difference in helping pets feel better sooner.

And yes… she is just as adorable in person as she looks. 🐾

When an emergency happens, stress levels are high and decisions often need to be made quickly.

One simple way to prepare is by keeping a folder—digital or physical—with your pet's important information, including:
• Current medications
• Vaccine records
• Primary care veterinarian information
• Emergency contacts
• Previous medical conditions or surgeries
• Pet insurance information

Having this information readily available can help veterinary teams better understand your pet's history and focus on what matters most: getting them the care they need.

Many primary care veterinarians now offer apps or online portals that make it easy to access important information like vaccine records, medications, and appointment history. If your veterinarian offers one, consider downloading it and becoming familiar with its features before an emergency occurs. Having quick access to your pet's information can save valuable time when it matters most.

Pancreatitis is something we see more often than people realize.

It doesn’t always start with an obvious emergency.

Sometimes it’s just:
‘They didn’t eat breakfast.’
‘They’re a little quieter than usual.’

But as pancreatitis progresses, pets can develop vomiting, abdominal pain, lethargy, and dehydration—and they can become very sick, very quickly.

Sometimes, having a friend makes all the difference.

Meet Zeke 🐾

Zeke wasn’t technically our patient, but he was here for an important job: supporting his brother, Louie, through his visit.

And honestly? He took that role very seriously.
