Hi everyone!!!

So a couple things as we move into spring and summer…I’m the only groomer in the salon. I do have a few bathers, dryers and preppers but I’m the only one who finishes the grooms of all dogs so with that being said, I also run Dalis to the Rescue which is my second full time job and love, and if you have every dealt with me you know that I’m so busy with both that I actually say weird things because my poor overworked brain can’t keep up AND I tend to run behind schedule if people want or need to talk to me up front (it’s why I hired front end girls so I can just stay in the back to groom and be on the phones with vets and programs to maybe stay ahead of schedule…that made me laugh out loud 😂

With all that being said because now my brain wants to ramble 😂 I’m getting so busy in the grooming salon that I want to make sure I can accommodate everyone in the best way possible. We will be asking if we can pre book your appointments out when coming in to get your pet groomed. A lot of people do it already, they make their next appointment when they pick their dog or cat up from grooming. This will ensure you have an appointment already set up and if something comes up, we can just reschedule you on a different date. I can always get your pet in on the same day, it just might take a little longer. I’m also getting booked up for this week and next so please call 989-463-9797 to schedule appointment, you can Facebook message DTAILS or you can make your own appointment on the app below but the app doesn’t always show all of our appointments available so if you are needing a specific appointment, calling will help you get the appointment you want and need. As most of you know I am typically closed on Mondays but because of the short Thanksgiving week I will be open this Monday November 25th. It’s going to be another 90+ degree day tomorrow and 80+ degrees the rest of the week. It’s also Labor Day weekend this weekend so with the heat and the holiday weekend coming up I will be extremely busy. I cannot believe Christmas is exactly a week away. Unfortunately I’m completely booked up for the week BUT if you absolutely need an appointment I MIGHT be able to sneak you in still if I get cancellations so please don’t hesitate to call 989-463-9797.

And yes, you get a Christmas picture with your grooming just like this beautiful Old English Sheepdog named Dali did. She comes in every 4 weeks to get groomed. Isn’t she gorgeous 😍

Everyone welcome Angela as Dtails newest dog groomer…well she’s not completely new. Lol. Angela started working in the rescue 6,7,8 years ago. I’ll be honest, time flies when you’re having fun so I’m not quite sure how many years it has been but she’s been working for me since she got out of high school. Her one and only job. She worked for the rescue many years until one day I asked her if she wanted to work full time in the grooming salon, running the front and bathing and drying dogs. She happily took the job while going to college…and then one day she said to me, “I think I want to be a dog groomer”. So last year I started teaching her how to groom dogs. I’ve been grooming dogs and cats for over 25 years and my poor body has taken a hit but the hardest thing for me is to entrust someone with my pride and joy…my customers, humans and animals alike. After a year of training Angela, this January she started as a full time dog groomer and she’s doing amazing and building a clientele. A huge thank you to my amazing customers for being so patient as we are going through this transition. I’ve been grooming most of your beloved pets for their whole lives, getting to know your families, watching your children grow, crying together when tragedies occur, building relationships with each grooming appointment…you all aren’t just my “customers”…I spend more time with you and your pets than I do my own family sometimes. You all are family. My employees aren’t just employees either, they are also family to me and go to birthdays and holidays with me and my family as well. So please welcome our next family member, Angela, to the crew!!!!

I am still grooming my requests so please bare with us while making a grooming appointment as we ask if you would prefer myself or if you would like to try Angela for your dog grooming needs. Hopefully in the future I can hire and train more groomers that all of you can entrust as well. I take my groomers to at least one professional training course a year so we can keep up on our grooming skills to better your grooming experiences. We went to Pet quest last year and hoping to go to a different one this year. We had a lot of fun meeting new people in the industry and fine tuning our skills ❤️

And if you have the day off and are looking to get your dog groomed this Monday, Memorial Day, Angela asked if she could open up the grooming salon. I told her to take the day off but she was like “nah, I’m not doing anything anyways”. Lol! She may take a little after me in the “workaholic” department. Lol!!!

There was a birthday today at DTAILS GROOMING SALON!!! Let’s everyone wish Mya a very happy birthday today!!!!

I’ve been grooming Mya for many many years and every year for her birthday her mommy gets her groomed and brings us cupcakes to celebrate her special day…which gave me the idea for BIRTHDAY PICTURES!!!!

How adorable is this before and after?

This little guy was so good for his very first professional grooming. He got a bath with our special oatmeal shampoo and a blueberry facial scrub, got his little teeffers brushed which is highly recommended for every grooming and in between groomings, got a nice little fluff and dry with our forced air dryers, and then got his hair styled with a cute little bandanna to top the whole package off.

Oh Mocha. He makes my job not work. He keeps me always thinking and challenges me and my instincts. Mocha is one dog I could groom if I lost my eyesight. He’s a “feeling”.

He’s very temperamental. Even with his owners. Mocha does what he wants when he wants and controls every situation that he doesn’t want to do by growling, biting and attacking. Mocha is a cocker spaniel so it’s a must he gets groomed. Luckily his owners are some of the best people ever and some of my best customers. They are always concern for my safety and tells me to just do what I can. Sometimes I can completely groom him with no problem. Other times he gives me hell. Lol! This time I couldn’t completely shave his face so he left with his face looking a little goofy. He left wagging his tail and happy and that’s all that matters to me. I don’t push him to get the perfect haircut. I do whatever his mood for that day allows.

Mocha and I have a special connection. A special bond. He’s not a fan of anyone else in my shop so it’s Mocha and I til the end. When he sees me he wags his tail even though at any given time he may snap at me for trimming his feet or face. I don’t take it personally. Mocha still loves me. He just hates to be groomed.

I will always be an advocate for the misunderstood whether it be for grooming or rescuing. I get them. I’ve always been the misunderstood underdog as well. The Mocha’s of the world are my favorite. I’m also so appreciative for Mocha’s owners. Patient and understanding with Mocha and myself.
