🌿 Important Update from Kayla’s Pet Sitting 🌿

As many of you know, I am currently expecting a baby 💕 Because of this, I will be stepping back from pet sitting for a while. I want to make sure every animal receives the safe and proper care they deserve, and some tasks are not safe for me to perform while pregnant. For example, I cannot change cat litter boxes because of the risk of toxoplasmosis, a parasite that can be harmful during pregnancy.

🐾 What this means:
• All current visits that are scheduled have been approved by my doctor and are safe for me to complete. These visits will still be finished as planned.
• I am not accepting any new bookings at this time.
• Once I feel comfortable and ready after the baby arrives, I’ll resume offering pet sitting services.

I truly appreciate everyone’s understanding and support during this special season of life. Caring for your pets has been such an honor, and I look forward to returning when the time is right 💛

🐾 I recently had the pleasure of spending time with Brinley and Ranger during a pet sitting stay!

Brinley was super funny—she loved to run, jump, and had the most dramatic snoring while she slept! 😴💨

Ranger was a bit nervous with me at first, but he warmed up quickly and showed just how sweet he really is. Watching him get more comfortable each day was so rewarding. 🐶💛

I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality. Thank you for trusting me with your babies, Madi Krug

🇺🇸🎆 Fourth of July Pet Safety Tips! 🎆🇺🇸

While the 4th of July is a time for celebration, it can be scary and stressful for our furry friends. As fireworks light up the sky, let’s make sure our pets are safe and comfortable:

🐾 Keep pets indoors – Fireworks can be loud and unpredictable. Even outdoor-savvy pets can panic and bolt.
🐾 Create a safe space – Turn on the TV or some calming music, close the curtains, and give them a cozy place to hide.
🐾 Update ID tags and microchips – Just in case they do escape, make sure they can be returned home quickly.
🐾 Avoid party scraps – Many holiday foods are dangerous for pets (grapes, chocolate, bones, alcohol, etc).
🐾 Take walks earlier – Get exercise in before the fireworks start.

❤️ If you’re traveling and need help keeping your pets safe and cared for during the holiday, I’m here to help!

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Independence Day! 🐶🐱💥

🔥 Hot Cars Kill – Even on Mild Days! 🔥

As temperatures rise, please remember: never leave your dog in a parked car, not even for a few minutes.

On an 85°F day, the temperature inside a car can soar to over 100°F in just 10 minutes — even with the windows cracked. Dogs can’t sweat like humans, and overheating can lead to brain damage, organ failure, or death in a frighteningly short amount of time.

Even quick errands can turn into tragedies.

✅ What you can do instead:
• Leave your pet safely at home where it’s cool.
• Run errands during cooler hours.
• If your dog must be in the vehicle, always have someone stay with them in the A/C.

🚨 There are temperature monitors available for RVs and vehicles — but even these can fail. Don’t rely on gadgets alone to protect your pet’s life.

Let’s keep our furry friends safe this summer. 💛🐶

☀️ Heat-wave kindness challenge: put out a drink for our wild neighbors! 💧🐿️🐦🦋

When temps soar past the comfort zone, back-yard regulars such as songbirds, squirrels, butterflies and even shy opossums can struggle to stay hydrated and cool. A few simple water stations make a huge difference:

💧 1. Offer shallow, wide dishes
Use pie plates, plant saucers, or up-cycled plastic lids. Keep the depth under 2” so tiny critters don’t risk drowning. Drop in a few stones or marbles for footing and bee “landing pads.”

🌳 2. Park them in the shade
Water stays cooler and evaporates slower when it’s out of direct sun. Place bowls beneath a shrub or on the north side of the house so animals can sip without baking.

🔄 3. Refresh and rinse daily
Clean, refilled water keeps mosquito larvae and algae away. A quick scrub with a dedicated brush or a rinse of white vinegar is plenty.

🪨 4. Add a “ramp” for everyone
A sturdy stick or flat rock leaning into the bowl lets chipmunks, toads, and insects reach the water—and climb back out safely.

🚰 5. Create a mini bird-bath splash
A slow-dripping hose or a hanging jug with a pin-hole keeps water moving and irresistible to overheated feathered friends. Running water also discourages mosquitoes.

🙏 6. Keep it chemical-free
Skip additives like electrolytes or sugar. Plain, fresh H₂O is safest for all species.

🌡️ Northeast Ohio is under a prolonged heat advisory this week, with “feels-like” temps topping 100 °F. Small acts—like a bowl of cool water—can literally be lifesavers.

🎉 Challenge time! Snap a photo of your wildlife water station, tag , and let’s fill our feeds with good deeds. Together we can help every critter—furred, feathered, or fluttery—beat the heat.

Stay cool and be kind. ♥️

🐴 Hot Weather Tips for Outdoor Animals 🐔🦊

Summer heat isn’t just tough on us — it can be dangerous for our outdoor animals too. Whether you have horses, chickens, goats, or furry farm friends, here’s how to help them beat the heat:

🐎 Skip riding during peak heat. Early mornings or late evenings are best — avoid overworking horses when it’s blazing hot!

💦 Provide fresh, cool water throughout the day — buckets heat up fast, so check them often!

🌳 Offer plenty of shade and good airflow — fans or natural shade go a long way.

🐔 Chickens love a shallow pan of water to stand in or a frozen veggie treat to peck at!

🦝 Leave out a shallow dish of water for your local wild critters — birds, squirrels, and other wildlife will thank you!

Let’s keep all our creatures cool and comfortable this summer! ☀️🐐🦆

🚨☀️ Hot Weather Alert for Pet Parents! ☀️🚨

As temps rise, so does the risk to our furry friends! Summer heat can be dangerous for pets, especially during the hottest parts of the day. Here’s how you can help keep them safe and cool:

🐾 Avoid midday walks – Pavement can reach scorching temperatures and burn paw pads. Stick to early morning or evening strolls.

💧 Provide fresh, cool water at all times – Hydration is key!

🌳 Offer shade or a cool indoor space – Never leave pets in cars or outside without protection from the sun.

🌬️ Watch for signs of heat stress like excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, or disorientation.

🧊 Bonus tip: Freeze treats or toys for a fun way to help them chill out!

Let’s enjoy summer safely – for tails that wag and paws that don’t burn! 🐶🐱❤️

🚨 Important Update About Cancellations 🚨

As much as I love caring for your pets, I need to set some boundaries to keep things fair and functional for everyone. Recently, I’ve had quite a few last-minute cancellations—and while I totally understand that emergencies happen, I want to make sure my time and schedule are respected, too.

🐾 Going forward, I need to ask for at least 2 days’ notice if you need to cancel your booking.
This gives me the opportunity to offer that time to another client who may need care.

⏰ When time is blocked off for your pets, that means that time slot is yours solely and that I’ve turned away other families to keep that slot open for you —so last-minute cancellations really impact my ability to serve everyone fairly.

⚠️ If a client cancels last minute more than twice, I will no longer be able to continue services for them.

My goal is to provide trusted, compassionate care at a reasonable price—but I can only continue doing that if my time is being taken seriously. Thank you all so much for understanding and supporting small, local pet care! 💛

As always, I’m understanding in the case of true emergencies—family, personal, or pet-related—and I appreciate your honesty and communication.
