I am excited to announce that we are officially affiliated with GutzBusta Slow Feed Hay Nets !

We have used their nets for two years and have been impressed with their quality. The nets have stood up to daily use and barely show wear at all. Using hay nets ensures the horses have forage available 24/7 and cut our wastage down by 40%!

Check out their variety of nets on their website gutzbusta.com

Photos are one year apart. The first photo is after living on an unsurfaced minimal grass track eating ad-lib hay and minerals for 7 months. The second photo is from a year ago living out in a field.

This pony arrived with symptoms of Cushing's / PPID : excessive hair, fat pads, puffy over the eyes, and history of founder

Within a few weeks of his diet/lifestyle change, the puffiness over the eyes melted away. Within a few months his fat pads were gone.

First cutting baled in perfect hay-making weather and immediately brought inside; bales are never left on the field.

We grow our own hay and it is never sprayed. The fields are filled with a variety of meadow grasses, timothy, and orchardgrass. They make a great species- appropriate forage option for horses, donkeys, and mules.

Can't wait for 2nd cutting, we will be trying something new this year!

For some reason I have so many more photos of our horses grazing, and not as many of the horses that stay on the track full time. This is our small herd of "littles" and their big brother. They live on our unsurfaced track with ad-lib hay.

Rotational grazing, regenerative agriculture.
We want our fields to be better each year and to promote a healthy, thriving ecosystem. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but the payoff is huge.

It is HOT these last couple of days. All the horses are loving the shade and salt water to stay cool and hydrated.

Happy horses munching on grass. We take great care to slowly introduce grass back into their diet and intensively manage our fields so we can offer safe grazing for as much of the year as possible.
