Montana rancher gives away $21.6M family cattle ranch rather than sell it off

A Montana cattleman and his wife are donating their $21.6 million, 38,000-acre family ranch to a rancher-led nonprofit, choosing to keep the land working as soaring prices and outside buyers squeeze multigenerational operations.

This is the first of the winter markets that happen the second Saturday of each month through the winter!

Come get these CANDY CANE beets, cheeky purple daikon radishes, Loose Leaf lettuce mix, spinach, fresh dill, and more! SO FRESH, it will keep well in the fridge until your holiday meals!

While this is the last market of the regular season, the Los Ranchos Growers' Market Winter Markets begin in December. They are held the second Saturday of each month through April from 10am-12pm. Don't forget us in the winter --we need customers more than ever during these months. 💕

Our CSA distributions are done for the year, but our crops and fields are not! Loose Leaf Farm is in production year-round with the help of hoophouses, row cover, and a little bit in the greenhouse. There's still 4 more weeks of the regular market season (last one is Nov. 8).

This week we'll have some of the last ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplant as well as fresh Fall favorites like various radishes with beautiful Greens, turnips 📸, mustard greens, celery📸, fennel, green tomatoes, a small amount of lettuce and beets...and garlic, eggs, and more!

Come enjoy a crisp morning drive on Rio Grande, do a little shopping, and support local farmers and producers!
