This is the second dog in the last two weeks that we’ve had come in to our hospital with this type of bone stuck around it’s mandible. Separate companies but the EXACT same design.

Please do NOT buy this type of bone for your pup! It’s not worth the risk. Luckily for this patient, our technician was able to wiggle it free but our previous patient was under general anesthesia for nearly a half hour while we went through every tool in our arsenal to saw through both sides of the bone safely.
Both dogs are lucky that they did not end up with lacerations or broken teeth.

Heads up pet pals!
Sharing from a Vet. Not sure where they found the info or if orally invested is the issue vs. eye drops.

You wouldn’t let yourself overheat, don’t make me!

Hot weather is here! You wouldn’t sit in a car with the windows rolled up (Or even cracked open) with the temperatures rising. So don’t put our furry friends in a similar situation.

Even on a 70 degree day, within 30 minutes, the interior of a vehicle can reach OVER 100 degrees! You wouldn’t sit in a 100 degree car, would you? With that in mind, as the temps get warmer and warmer, on a 85 degree day, it will only take 10 minutes to reach over 100 degrees in the car.

Pets die every day due to lack of care and concern, from leaving them unattended in a hot vehicle. Don’t let your pet become a statistic. If you see a pet left unattended in a vehicle on a warm day, do not hesitate to call your local police department or call 911 to be connected to your local authority.

We saw a post from our friends at Lunenburg Police Department with this graphic, and thought it had great information.

i havent been pet sitting since jan of this year due to a car accident that left me with a fractured back. im not supposed to start working until june but i think i can start back slowly with the pet sitting in taking care of small animals, low maintanence animals, no dog jumpers or pulling on leashes on walks but i think i can still do the walking. if its a special needs animals that needs a great amount of care im not sure if im ready for that, but i do miss it deeply. i can do some doggy daycare and some kitten/cat daycare, if the dogs r laid back. im hoping to work with horses some time, that was me goal for the new year but i had a setback on that. when im healed up enough i will try again with that.

Never leave your dog unattended for ANY reason; that means in a car and outside strapped to a pole in front of a store. there are many thieves out to steal your pets for profit; which means selling them to a facility for lab testings. a gruesome outcome for your beloved pet. :(
