‼️🐶ADOPT ME🐶‼️

Rugar
4 months old
Male
Doberman/Pitbull Mix, Fully Vetted

Meet Rugar, a sweet and lovable 4-month-old puppy with a heart full of affection! He’s an energetic and playful little guy who’s ready to bring joy into your life. Rugar is the perfect mix of playful puppy and cuddle buddy, and he’s looking for a family who can give him all the love and attention he deserves.

Rugar is curious and enjoys exploring, but he’s also a laid-back guy who loves nothing more than curling up next to his people for some quality snuggle time. He’s still learning the ropes of being a puppy but is already a quick learner and eager to please.

Rugar has Cerebellar Hypoplasia which means he struggles a bit when it comes to coordination. But do NOT let that fool you… Rugar is one determined lil puppy and some don’t even know he has a condition until he fumbles a bit!🤭 this condition does not require anyone with experience with it to adopt him… as it doesn’t really affect much of his life besides him being not so coordinated. Unless you live in a house with glass decor in reach of a fumbly puppy… then… time for a garage sale for your decor!!🤣 just kidding… in all seriousness, this condition really doesn’t require any special medical care. He’s just like any other puppy/dog!

Dogs: Rugar is great with other dogs! He’s social and enjoys playtime with both calm and active pups. He is currently being fostered with several dogs of all shapes and sizes. His friendly, easygoing nature makes him a perfect match for a household with other dogs.

Cats: Rugar is friendly and curious around cats. He is currently being fostered with several cats!

Kids: Rugar loves kids! He’s gentle and affectionate with little ones and would be thrilled to have a family who can give him the attention he craves. He’s ready to join in the fun, whether it’s a game of fetch or snuggling on the couch.

Other animals: Rugar is currently being fostered with horses and goats and he is doing well!

Crate: Rugar is still working on crate training and doing great! He is still a puppy so of course he would rather be close to his people. He’s done well in the crate so far and is learning to relax when it’s time for quiet time. He’s also doing great with potty training!

Energy Level: Rugar is a typical puppy—full of energy, ready to play, and then happy to curl up for a nap when the fun is done. He’s always up for a game of fetch or a stroll around the yard, but he’s equally content with a chill day hanging out with his favorite people.

In short, Rugar is the perfect combination of fun, love, and sweetness. He’s looking for a forever family who will appreciate his playful nature and give him the care and attention he needs. If you’re ready to add this adorable puppy to your life, Rugar is waiting to meet you!

We always say that adoptable Gloria would be best as the queen of her castle… and while this remains true… we thought we would share the recent pics of Gloria with a doggy friend she made when her foster humans had family visit! Gloria would do fine in a home with dogs or cats… it would just require a slightly above average dog owner!!! Which… we know there are plenty of you out there 😉 she would also possibly do fine in a home where you have some family dogs visit. With correct intros and management, Gloria has truly shown she can make doggy friends!!!!

This adorable and sweet girl is still looking for a home. Which is so hard to believe 😍😍😍

New boy alert! More to come on this special lil guy!😍😍😍

Kong got to be the best breed advocate today at a career day at the elementary school! We opted for a lickable treat though since sometimes teefs can accidentally touch little fingers🤣🤣🤣 the kids were so excited to meet, pet, and hug Kong! And Kong’s belly is full from all of the spray cheese the kinders gave him🤣

Today's story is not the happiest one, but we pride ourselves in being transparent and real with everyone about the things we deal with in rescue and the sad realities that can come along with it.

Last week we were contacted asking if we could take in three bottle baby kittens, of course we said yes and scrambled to find a foster. Like most rescues, we prefer not to take in kittens without their mom being spayed or actively having a plan to spay her since we don't want to contribute to ongoing animal overpopulation and suffering. Turns out mom had to have an emergency C-section to get her babies out. Mom would have absolutely died if she hadn't had the procedure, one baby died immediately, and the whole thing cost her wonderful family $1,938.72. Thankfully mom's family was willing to get her the help she needed and reached out to us for help with the babies since mom couldn't care for them while she recovered from her C section and spay.

Sadly, the babies were not in good shape and two more passed away. Their very experienced foster did everything she could and is continuing to do everything she can to keep the last remaining baby alive.

I know rescues are constantly preaching spay and neuter-but this is why. Three lives lost, mom almost died and is recovering from an intense surgery to the tune of $1900. We hear people say "we want her to experience having one litter." Birth complications like this are not uncommon. We know the cost of spay/neuter has risen but a $125 spay is a lot less than a $1900 emergency procedure and there are SO MANY resources for free or low cost spay neuter.

This mama's family did the right thing and this is not intended to shame anyone, it's simply to educate about what can happen and encourage spaying and neutering all pets!

If you are struggling to afford getting your pets fixed below is a list of free or low cost options.

Please prevent suffering by spaying and neutering BEFORE having a litter.

💓Piper’s Surgery Update💓

Just a quick recap of yesterday’s surgery update: She’s out of surgery and everything went better than expected! The surgical team is confident she’ll do well, and they were able to open up her pulmonary artery completely. The VSD is still benefiting her, and the next step was to see how her heart responds over the next 12 hours with an echo. Which was completed today!!! All signs are pointing in the right direction!

We are thrilled to share that Piper made it through surgery yesterday and is already recovering wonderfully! She spent the night with the CSU team and is doing better than we could have hoped. The team truly believes that this is the best outcome for her, and we're all breathing a sigh of relief.

Her pulmonary artery valve is still completely open, which is fantastic news! The pressure going through her pulmonary artery valve and in her right heart is now half of what it was before—such a huge improvement! She’s already showing more energy, which is just adorable to see. The team expects little to no fluid accumulation moving forward, though they anticipate one or two more taps just to be sure.

They’ve started to reduce her daily heart meds because they’re so pleased with her progress. However, they do want her to have another echo in a month to monitor how things are going.

Piper’s wonderful forever fosters were able to pick her up and take her home, so she’s officially on her healing journey! It’s been quite the rollercoaster, especially when we first got her diagnosis, and we honestly feared the worst. But thanks to a lot of advocacy, research, and effort, Piper was able to get this life-saving surgery, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

None of this would have been possible without your support—thank you to everyone who has shared her posts and donated. It means the world to us, and it’s because of you that Piper has the chance to live a healthy, happy life.

We can’t wait to see everyone flaunting their Piper shirts for months and years to come! A testament to your contribution to Piper’s journey. THANK YOU!

Thank you Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital !!!
