Earlier this week we announce that starting this month, we will be sponsoring the adoption of one of the animals available at the Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center!
That means the adoption fee is free! In addition, any pets sponsored by Bright Eyes will be sent home with a certificate to waive the exam fee for their first wellness visit with us!
Since June is adopt a cat month, we chose miss Polka to be the first! 😸

Polka is a 7 year old spayed female that came in as a stray about 3 months ago. She is the sweetest little lady and we are shocked she hasn't found a home yet! Although she isn't a big fan of other cats, Polka is sometimes used to see if a dog at the shelter likes kitties🐶😸She loves playtime with a wand toy, but her favorite activity is cuddle time. Polka is a chill, happy girl and is ready for her forever home💝

A very bitter sweet day at our hospital as Dr. Loni Ellsworth is working her final day with us. 😿😭 Although she's only been here about a year, I think it's fair to say she's made a huge impact on the staff and clients during that time. 😸🐶 Join us in wishing her well as she opens her new clinic, North Star Veterinary Clinic, in Hiawatha!! 🐾🥳🎉

⚠️The team will be celebrating Loni on Sunday, May 31st. We will be closing at 5pm that day, so all of the staff will have an opportunity to say bye.💙

Here are some parting words from the woman herself:
"Bright Eyes and Bushy Tails has been such a special chapter in my journey as a vet! Over the past 10+ months, I’ve learned so much from every single person here. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team that has been supportive, kind, and welcoming from day one. The team atmosphere they've built here is one full of teamwork that truly makes the dream work!

The doctors at Bright Eyes are truly outstanding, and the standard of care they provide is exceptional. They’ve challenged me, taught me, and helped me grow tremendously as a veterinarian. I genuinely feel like I’ve become a smarter, more methodical, and better doctor because of each of them.

While I’m incredibly excited to begin this new adventure of opening my own clinic, leaving is bittersweet. The clients and staff at Bright Eyes and Bushy Tails will always hold a special place in my heart, and I’ll forever be grateful for the friendships, support, and lessons I’m taking with me! Thank you for being part of my journey!"
